UPESSC Special TET City Intimation Slip 2026 Out: Download Exam City Slip, Admit Card Date & Exam Schedule

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) released the exam city intimation slip for the Special TET 2026, Advertisement No. 03/2026, on 23 October 2026, according to several job portals. The exam is on 3 November 2026 in two shifts, at six divisional headquarters. The admit card is not out yet and is expected by 31 October. I have not opened the official notice or the login page, so the details below are as reported and need checking against upessc.up.gov.in. The syllabus, the login details that actually work and the reporting times are not settled in anything I found.

What has been released

UPESSC, Prayagraj, activated the city slip link for candidates who applied under Advertisement No. 03/2026, whose application window ran from 5 September to 4 October 2026. Careerpower, MissionGyan and Karmasandhan agree on the main facts: 23 October for the slip, 3 November for the test, and an admit card to follow. Karmasandhan links an official notice PDF on the Commission’s website.

The slip tells you the district or city where your centre will be. It does not give the centre’s address, and it is not an admit card. You cannot enter the exam hall with it.

The reports describe the Special TET as an eligibility test for teachers in primary (Classes 1 to 5) and upper primary (Classes 6 to 8) schools and for special educators for children with special needs. They do not explain why this test is separate from the main UP TET, or what a pass means for a candidate’s career. The notice that came with Advertisement No. 03/2026 is where that is set out.

One caution about names. A page headed ‘UP TET 2026 City Intimation Slip’ from earlier this year, on Sakshi Education, refers to the main TET and gives the Commission’s website as upsssc.gov.in. That is a different exam and a different body’s address. Do not use it.

Key dates

Event Date (as reported)
Applications 5 September to 4 October 2026
City slip released 23 October 2026
Admit card Expected by 31 October 2026
Written exam 3 November 2026
Morning shift 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Afternoon shift 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM

By the calendar, 3 November 2026 is a Tuesday, a working day, and it falls five days before Diwali, so long-distance trains and buses in the preceding week will be crowded. It is nine days away from today.

How to download the slip, and a login detail that differs

The steps reported by Karmasandhan are these.

  1. Go to the Commission’s website, upessc.up.gov.in.
  2. Find the link for the Special TET 2026 exam city slip under Advertisement No. 03/2026.
  3. Open the login page.
  4. Enter your registration number and date of birth, plus the captcha if one appears.
  5. Submit, check your allotted city, and download the slip.
  6. Print it or save it.

The sources disagree on the credentials. Karmasandhan says registration number and date of birth. Careerpower says you log in with your OTR ID, mobile number or email address, and password. Both may be true in different ways, since the Commission’s application system has used one-time registration. If one set of details does not work, try the other before you decide the slip is unavailable, and read the official notice for the exact login instruction. If you have forgotten your password, use the reset option now, not on the day the admit card appears.

Check the website address

Three web addresses appear in the reports. The Commission’s own site is given as upessc.up.gov.in. Karmasandhan’s ‘direct link’ goes to a different address, apply.upessc.org, which it labels as the official application login. And one older page uses upsssc.gov.in, which belongs to the UP Subordinate Service Selection Commission.

The second address may be a genuine system. It is plausible that applications and slips are served from a separate sub-site. But a login that asks for your date of birth and password deserves care. The safest route is to start from upessc.up.gov.in, find the notice there and follow the link it gives. If the Commission’s own page sends you to the login, you can trust it. If you arrive from a forwarded message, do not enter anything. No one can issue your slip or admit card for a fee.

What the slip shows

Karmasandhan lists the likely contents as your name, registration number, roll number if one has been allotted, the name of the exam, the exam city and district, the date, the shift where given, and general instructions. The reports do not agree on whether the shift appears on the slip or only on the admit card. If the slip does not show it, you will learn it from the admit card.

Check each detail. A wrong spelling or the wrong exam is the kind of error to report straight away through the Commission’s official channels, and not on the day of the test. I found nothing on whether a change of city is possible, so assume it is not.

The six cities

The exam is reported to be held at six divisional headquarters: Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut and Agra. Each candidate gets one of them, and the city on your slip can differ from that of someone you know.

For a candidate living in a district far from any of these, the allotted city can mean a long journey. If you live in, say, a district in eastern Uttar Pradesh and are allotted Meerut, you should plan for a day of travel each way and an overnight stay. Booking a bus or train now is easier than booking it in the last three days, and the festival season makes that more true.

Timing and the two shifts

Each shift is 2 hours 30 minutes. The morning shift starts at 9:30 AM and the afternoon shift at 2:30 PM. The reporting time for each is on the admit card, and it will be earlier than the start, typically by a good margin because of entry checks. The reports do not give it.

Two practical consequences follow from that. If you are in the morning shift and your centre is in another city, travel the day before and stay near the centre if you can. Reaching a strange city at dawn on the exam day is how people end up outside a closed gate. If you are in the afternoon shift, you have a morning to travel, but allow a margin for delays and do not plan on a tight connection.

Book accommodation that you can cancel, because the centre address is not known until the admit card. Within a city like Lucknow or Prayagraj, centres can lie far apart, and a room chosen by guesswork can be a long way from the hall.

The admit card

The admit card is expected by 31 October, about three days before the exam, according to Karmasandhan. It is the document needed to enter the hall, and it carries the complete centre address, the shift and the reporting time. Download it the day it appears, check your name, roll number, date, shift, centre and reporting time, and print two copies. Carry a valid photo ID too, though the reports do not say which IDs are accepted. The admit card’s own instructions will list them.

If the card does not appear by 31 October, keep checking the Commission’s site and do not rely on social media posts about release times.

Exam pattern

Karmasandhan reports 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks, in 2 hours 30 minutes, in Hindi and English, covering special education and teaching aptitude. It reports no negative marking, ‘as per commission instructions’. I did not see the notice, and a rule about marking is the sort of line worth reading in the original.

If there is truly no negative marking, the paper has a simple implication. A question left blank can only cost you marks, and a guess has no downside. Mark an answer for every question before time is called, even if it is a guess made in the last minute. Check the rule in the notice before the exam, and if it turns out that wrong answers carry a penalty, change your approach.

How to use 150 minutes

The paper gives you one minute per question. That is generous for recall questions and tight for any passage-based or case-based ones. A sensible plan is to go through the paper once at a steady pace, answering what you know and marking doubtful questions in the booklet or on screen, then to spend the remaining time on the marked ones. Keep ten minutes at the end to fill in anything unanswered.

If the paper is on OMR, check the instructions on how to mark and take care with the numbering, since a shift of one row can corrupt every answer after it. Fill the sheet as you go, or in blocks at fixed points, but never leave the whole sheet for the last five minutes.

Preparing in nine days

The syllabus is in the notice, which I have not seen, so this is a general plan and not a prescription.

Read the syllabus in the notice and sort it into three groups: topics you know well, topics you know partly and topics you have not touched. Spend most of the time on the middle group. In nine days you can move a partly known topic to a known one. You cannot learn a whole unfamiliar subject.

For a test described as covering special education and teaching aptitude, the usual areas include child development and learning, inclusive education, types of disability and their educational needs, assessment and individual education plans, teaching methods and classroom management, and the legal and policy framework for disability. These are my guesses from the title and not the Commission’s list. Match them to the actual syllabus before you rely on them.

Work in short sessions with a timer, take at least two full-length practice papers under exam conditions, and review mistakes by topic. In the last two days, stop learning new material and revise notes.

If you cannot find your slip

Not everyone who applied will see a slip straight away. If the login fails, check three things in order. First, that you are on the Commission’s own page, reached from upessc.up.gov.in. Second, that you are using the credentials the page asks for, trying the registration number and date of birth, then the OTR ID or mobile number with the password. Third, that your application was actually completed. A candidate whose application was incomplete, or who did not pay the fee, may have no slip.

If all three check out and the slip still does not appear, write down the exact message on the screen, take a screenshot, and contact the Commission through the helpline or email given on its website. The reports quote no number, and I will not guess one. Keep checking the site every day, since slips and admit cards are sometimes released in batches.

Nine days, day by day

This is my suggestion.

Days 1 and 2: download and print the slip, book travel and a cancellable room, and read the notice for the syllabus and marking rule. Days 3 to 5: study the topics from the middle group, in short sessions, and take one full timed practice paper. Days 6 and 7: take a second paper, review every wrong answer and write short notes on the topics that cost you marks. Day 8: the admit card should be out by now, so download it, check every detail and plan your route to the centre. Day 9, the day before: light revision only, pack your admit card, photo ID, pens and water, and sleep early.

If the admit card has not appeared by the evening of 31 October, do not panic, but check the Commission’s site each morning and evening, and keep the slip ready.

An exam-day checklist

Carry your printed admit card, a valid photo ID, two or three pens that write reliably, and a small bottle of water if the centre allows it. Leave phones, smartwatches and notes outside if the instructions say so, and ask who will hold them, or leave them at your lodging. Wear comfortable clothing, because a long paper in an uncomfortable room costs concentration. Reach the centre with time to spare, find your room, and read the instructions on the paper before you start. If the rules on negative marking, answer sheets or rough work are unclear, ask the invigilator before the clock starts, not afterwards.

Reading rumours with care

Between a city slip and an exam, social media fills with claims about the ‘expected paper’, ‘important questions’ and ‘guaranteed topics’. Nobody outside the Commission knows the questions, and a paper does not leak because a channel says it will. Treat these claims as noise. Treat messages that ask for money to ‘confirm your seat’ or ‘arrange a good centre’ as fraud. The Commission allots centres by its own system, and no agent can change it.

Common mistakes

Treating the city slip as an entry document. Booking a non-refundable room next to a centre before the admit card names it. Entering login details on a site reached through a forwarded link. Assuming a friend’s shift or city applies to you. Waiting until the day the admit card appears to reset a forgotten password. Leaving answers blank on the assumption that there is a penalty, without checking the notice. And arriving at a centre without the printed admit card and ID.

What is not yet known

  • The syllabus and its weightage.
  • The exact reporting time for each shift.
  • Whether the slip shows the shift.
  • Which login details the Commission’s page accepts.
  • Whether any change of exam city is allowed.
  • The date of the result.

FAQs

Is the city slip the same as the admit card? No. The slip only gives the exam city. The admit card, expected by 31 October, carries the centre address, shift and reporting time, and is required for entry.

Which cities host the exam? Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut and Agra, according to Karmasandhan. Each candidate is allotted one.

Is there negative marking? Karmasandhan reports none, as per the Commission’s instructions. Confirm this in the notice before the exam.

I cannot log in with my registration number and date of birth. What now? Careerpower says the login uses an OTR ID, mobile number or email address and password. Try that, and use the password reset if needed. Start from upessc.up.gov.in, not from a forwarded link.

Can I change my exam city? The reports do not describe any provision for changing the city. Assume it is not possible and plan your travel.
