per job-portal reports of the Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Raigarh notice dated 27 October 2026: 6 contractual Laboratory Technician posts, registration on 12 November and a written test on 13 November 2026. Pending or unverified: the exact marking rules, the full text of the Hindi notice, the question pattern and the syllabus. I could not open the original notice, so the details below should be checked against it before you travel.
What has been announced
The CMHO Raigarh notice, reportedly referenced 31652/2026 and dated 27 October 2026, invites applications for the contractual engagement of 6 Laboratory Technicians under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arrangements, to support health services at district-level institutions in Raigarh. There is no online form. Candidates attend a registration session in Raigarh, bring a self-attested application with documents, and go through eligibility checks, a written examination and a skill test or interview.
One thing to settle first. This is not the National Health Mission (NHM) lab technician post that CMHO Raigarh has advertised in earlier years. It is funded through CSR, and that affects pay and contract security, which I come back to below.
Important dates and how tight the schedule is
| Event | Date and time (as reported) |
|---|---|
| Notice date | 27 October 2026 |
| Registration of applications | 12 November 2026, 9:30 to 11:00 AM |
| Eligible and ineligible list published | 12 November, 1:00 PM |
| Claims and objections | 12 November, 2:00 to 3:00 PM |
| Final eligibility list | 12 November, by 4:00 PM |
| Written examination | 13 November, 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon |
| Result of the exam | 13 November, 3:00 PM |
These timings come from a Karmasandhan summary of the notification. A structured-data entry on a second job site shows the posting valid through 13 November 2026.
Look at how compressed this is. A candidate who reaches the registration table at 11:15 AM may be turned away, and the whole recruitment, from scrutiny to objections to the first exam result, is designed to run across two days. There is no postal window, no extension period and, in what I read, no second chance. If you are coming from outside Raigarh, plan to arrive on 11 November, not on the morning of the 12th.
Vacancies and category split
The six posts are divided as Unreserved 2, OBC 1, SC 1 and ST 2. That ST allocation of two out of six is high, and it matters for Raigarh, a district with a large tribal population. I read no district-specific domicile condition in the summary, but check the notice for any local-preference clause before assuming open competition.
With six posts, each reserved seat is a single seat. A single SC or OBC post has exactly one candidate selected, so the category list is effectively a head-to-head contest. The notice says the number of posts may change with administrative requirements.
Educational qualification and registration
The essential qualification is Intermediate (10+2) plus a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a certified course, or an equivalent qualification, together with valid professional registration. Preferential qualifications include one year of experience in NTEP (the TB elimination programme) or sputum smear microscopy, and higher qualifications such as a graduation. The preferences are not essential. A candidate without NTEP experience can still apply, but may lose ground on marks.
Registration is the clause that rejects the most people. The summary says the registration must be valid before the date of publication of the advertisement, which here is 27 October 2026, and that candidates without valid registration may be treated as ineligible. If your paramedical council registration lapsed, or you applied for it and the certificate has not arrived, you may fail on a technicality. A report of an earlier CMHO Raigarh cycle named the Chhattisgarh Paramedical Council, but the 2026 summary I read only says “relevant council,” so check the notice for the exact body. If your registration needs renewing, start now. Council offices rarely process renewals in two weeks.
Age limit
The reported age range is 18 to 70 years as on 1 January 2026. A maximum of 70 is unusual, and I would not trust it blindly until you have seen it in the Hindi notice. If it is correct, the post is open to retired government lab staff, and that has a consequence for younger applicants: experienced, previously employed candidates collect experience marks that a fresh DMLT graduate cannot match. That is my reading of the structure, not something the notice states.
Check one more point. Age is calculated on 1 January 2026, so someone born after 1 January 2008 may be short of the minimum 18, even though they will be older than 18 on the day of the walk-in.
Pay, contract and what CSR means
The consolidated monthly honorarium is Rs. 13,000, for an initial period of one year. The notice states no regular government allowances apply, and the engagement can be ended under specified conditions, including the recruitment of regular or contractual staff or administrative decisions. The summary also says permanent employment is not guaranteed.
For comparison, an older job-site report of a previous CMHO Raigarh round listed Rs. 14,000 per month for NHM and NUHM lab technician posts. That report is more than a year old, so treat it as indicative. It does suggest the CSR post pays somewhat less than the NHM one did, and with a one-year term that depends on a funding arrangement. If the CSR funding ends, so does the engagement. Ask at the registration desk what happens to renewal and whether the term depends on funding.
Selection and marking
The reported structure is a merit score built from three parts. Educational qualification carries up to 65 marks, experience carries 10 or 15 marks depending on the criteria, and the written test, skill test or interview component carries 20 marks. A further 10 marks are mentioned for specified service experience under applicable Chhattisgarh Government conditions, with the summary warning that the official Hindi notice governs.
Add the figures up. 65 plus 15 plus 20 is exactly 100, which would make sense as a maximum. The extra 10 for service experience, if it applies on top, would take the possible total above 100, so it may be an alternative or a conditional bonus. I cannot resolve that from the summary. Read the marking table in the notice before you plan.
Here is why it matters, with numbers that are my own illustration and not anyone’s real result. Say one candidate scores 40 out of 65 on qualifications, 10 for experience and 14 of 20 on the test, giving 64. A second scores 52 on qualifications, 0 for experience and 10 on the test, giving 62. The first wins on experience despite weaker academics. Because the written test carries only 20 of the marks, academic marks and experience move the final order more than exam performance does, if the reported weighting is right.
The summary says candidates may be called for screening or interview in a ratio of up to ten times the number of vacancies. For six posts, that is up to 60 candidates. How many actually come to Raigarh on 12 November is unknown.
Written test and syllabus
The exam is one hour on 13 November from 11:00 AM, with the number of questions, negative marking and detailed syllabus not specified. Do not trust any page that gives a question count or a marking scheme for this test. None of the notice summaries I read supply those.
What you can do is revise the core areas of a DMLT course, which is what a lab technician exam in a health department normally tests. The summary suggests basic laboratory techniques and equipment, sample collection and handling, safety and sterilisation, microscopy, clinical pathology, blood and urine examination, microbiology and staining methods, haematology, and TB laboratory work covering NTEP and sputum smear microscopy. The same summary stresses these are suggested topics and not an official syllabus.
TB laboratory work deserves extra attention, because NTEP experience is a named preference. If you have handled sputum microscopy, be ready to speak about slide preparation, staining and reading in the skill test or interview.
How to apply and what to carry
Candidates prepare an application in the prescribed or accepted format, attach self-attested copies of documents, carry originals, and report to the CMHO Raigarh venue on 12 November between 9:30 and 11:00 AM. The venue is reported as the CMHO office on Bhagwanpur Road, Raigarh.
The document list reported is this: Class 10 and Class 12 certificates or marksheets, the DMLT or equivalent certificate with course marksheets, the professional registration certificate, a caste certificate if applicable, a domicile or residence certificate if applicable, and photo identity proof. Accepted identity documents include Aadhaar, voter ID, PAN and driving licence. If you are claiming experience marks, add the experience certificate, the appointment order where needed, and the six-month service certificate for the specified bonus.
The summary says no application fee is specified. Do not pay anyone for an “entry slip.”
Prepare two sets of photocopies and self-attest every page before you travel. One set goes into the application, and the second is your backup if an official asks for a re-check at the objection stage.
Experience certificates
Experience marks depend on where you worked. The reported rules refer to experience in central government, state government, government undertakings and government or semi-government institutions, and require the right issuing authority or countersignature where the notice demands it. Experience in a private lab may not count at all, or may count differently. If most of your experience is private, read this clause carefully, because an unsigned or wrongly issued certificate scores nothing.
Verification-safety tip
Local-body recruitments like this one spread by WhatsApp, and forwarded images often change dates. The two-day schedule means a wrong date costs you the entire selection. Compare the date and time you plan to follow with the notice on the Raigarh district website, raigarh.gov.in, or with the CMHO office directly. I did not find any helpline number in the sources, so I am not providing one. Ask the district office in person or by its published channels.
Cut-off
There is no cut-off in any published form for this drive. Each candidate gets a combined score and the top scorers in each category fill the six seats. Anyone quoting an “expected cut-off” has no source. If the CMHO office publishes a merit list, you could compare your score to the lowest selected one.
A realistic day-by-day plan
On 11 November, travel to Raigarh with all originals and two sets of attested copies. On 12 November, arrive before 9:30 AM, register, and note the time the eligible list goes up at 1:00 PM. If your name is wrongly marked ineligible, you have one hour, 2:00 to 3:00 PM, to submit an objection with proof, so keep the missing paper ready. On 13 November, reach the exam hall before 11:00 AM and bring your identity proof. The reported result comes at 3:00 PM, so book a return ticket for the evening or the next day, not before.
Common mistakes
The first is carrying photocopies that are not self-attested. The second is arriving after the registration window closes at 11:00 AM. The third is assuming experience in any lab counts. The fourth is ignoring the registration validity date of 27 October. The fifth is relying on a forwarded image for the date and venue.

FAQs
Is this the NHM lab technician post?
No. It is a contractual post under CSR arrangements at Rs. 13,000 per month, per the reports. NHM posts in earlier years were a different engagement.
Can I apply by post or online?
The sources describe registration in person at the Raigarh venue on 12 November, and I found no postal or online route. Check the notice.
My paramedical registration is being renewed. Can I still apply?
It may not be accepted. The summary says registration must be valid before the date of the advertisement, so a lapsed registration risks ineligibility.
Is there a syllabus and negative marking for the 13 November test?
The summary says neither is specified. Revise DMLT basics, and ignore claims about question counts.
Is this a permanent post?
No. It is a contractual engagement, initially for one year, with no guarantee of permanent employment.
