the Centre for Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Research & Applications (CAInDRA) at Anna University, Chennai, issued notification Ref. No. 01/CARCA/CSR/2026-27 on 21 October 2026, and applications are accepted by email until 29 October 2026. Still pending: interview dates, which will go only to shortlisted candidates by email, and any outcome.
I haven’t opened the notification PDF. The details come from Faculty Plus (published 26 October), which links to the PDF on annauniv.edu, and from a second portal for cross-checking. Where they disagree, I say so.
What this recruitment is
The posts sit in a CSR-funded project titled “Development of Effective and Trustworthy AI-based tools for diagnosis and prognosis using patient data,” based at the CAInDRA centre on the CEG Campus in Chennai. This is a short project engagement, not a regular university appointment. The project runs for 6 months, and the tenure may be extended for a further 6 months based on performance.
“Anna University Recruitment 2026” is a crowded search term. The other 2026 notices I found were also project posts, and every deadline I saw has passed. One covered 10 Project Associate and Technical Assistant posts and closed on 16 June. Another, for a single Project Associate-I, closed on 25 June. A Centre for Composite Materials notice for a Project Associate-I and a Project Technician listed an interview on 10 August. If a page shows a different Anna University vacancy, check its last date before you spend time on it.
Important dates
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Notification date | 21 Oct 2026 |
| Applications open | 21 Oct 2026 |
| Last date to apply by email | 29 Oct 2026 |
| Interview | Date not published; shortlisted candidates are informed by email only |
The deadline is the day after tomorrow. A cached copy of the university’s homepage lists the CAInDRA recruitment under “Recruitments” with 29 Oct 2026 beside it. That is consistent with the deadline above, but the cache is old, so rely on the PDF for the final word.
Vacancies
Faculty Plus lists seven positions: five Student Interns, one Professional Assistant and one Project Associate. A second portal gives a conflicting count. Jobs For You Tamizha says 7 vacancies in its headline but lists 4 Student Intern posts, with 1 and 1 for the other two, which adds up to 6. The correct number of intern slots is either four or five. The PDF settles it.
I found no category-wise reservation breakup, and none is mentioned in the reports I read.
Eligibility
For Student Intern, applicants must be UG students pursuing B.E. CSE, B.Tech IT or B.Tech AI & DS, or PG students pursuing M.E. CSE, M.Tech IT or M.Tech AI & DS. The other portal mentions only B.E. studies, which is narrower, so confirm whether PG students are eligible.
For Professional Assistant, the qualification is MCA, B.E., B.Tech, MBA or M.Com, with computer knowledge and work experience desirable. For Project Associate, it is B.E., B.Tech, M.E. or M.Tech in CSE, IT or AI & DS, with work experience desirable.
The notice also asks for a skill set relevant to AI-based diagnosis and prognosis tools that use patient data. Experience is marked “desirable,” not required, so a strong fresher isn’t excluded, but a resume with no link to the project will look weak.
Age limit and fee
No age limit or relaxation and no application fee is mentioned in the notification. That is Faculty Plus’s reading, so check the PDF if age or fee matters to you.
Remuneration
The monthly pay is ₹10,000 for Student Intern, ₹35,000 for Professional Assistant and ₹50,000 for Project Associate. If the project runs the full six months, that comes to ₹60,000, ₹2,10,000 and ₹3,00,000 respectively, by my arithmetic. A 6-month extension could double those totals, but extension depends on performance and is not guaranteed.
Pay is project remuneration, not a pay-scale salary, and I could not find whether allowances or deductions apply. Don’t compare it to a permanent university post.
Selection process
Selection involves scrutiny of the resume and the two-page project proposal received by email, followed by an interview of shortlisted candidates. The interview date and time are informed only through email. No written test is mentioned.
The proposal carries more weight than it first appears. In a selection with no exam, a two-page proposal is the main way to show you understand the work. A candidate who sends a resume and a generic proposal competes on resume alone.
How to apply
Send a detailed resume highlighting your skills, plus a two-page proposal relevant to the project, by email on or before 29 October 2026. The email address appears in the notification PDF, which I could not see. Use the address from the PDF on annauniv.edu, not one from a forwarded post. Faculty Plus links the PDF as annauniv.edu/pdf/notification-manpower_caindra.pdf.
Student candidates must send the application forwarded by their HOD or Dean. The reports don’t say whether the HOD sends the email or signs a forwarding letter that you attach. That is the first thing to check in the PDF.
Documents
The reported list is short: a detailed resume, the two-page proposal, and, for Student Interns, the forwarding of the application by the HOD or Dean. The notice asks candidates to read the full notification. Keep your degree certificates and marksheets scanned and ready anyway, because shortlisted candidates may be asked for them at interview. That last point is my suggestion, not a stated requirement.
Job profile
No duty list was reported. The project title and the required skills suggest work on machine-learning tools that diagnose or predict patient outcomes from data. The word “trustworthy” in the title points to explainability, reliability and privacy of patient data, not accuracy alone. Student Interns would presumably assist and Project Associates would do more of the build work, but that is my reading, not the notice’s.
Writing the two-page proposal
The notice sets no format, so this is general advice. A strong proposal in two pages usually covers the problem you would tackle, the type of patient data you would use and how you would handle privacy, the method you would try, and how you would test whether it works and is reliable. Link it to your own experience, such as a project, a course or a dataset you have worked with. Add a rough timeline that fits six months. Avoid pasting generic text about AI in healthcare. A reviewer reading seven or more of these will notice the ones that are specific.
Mistakes to avoid
Leaving the HOD or Dean’s forwarding to the last day is the biggest risk for students. A departmental signature can take a day or two, and the deadline is 29 October.
Don’t send the email from an address you rarely check. Interview dates come only by email, so watch your inbox and spam folder.
Don’t trust copied email addresses on social media posts. Get it from the official PDF.
