the Controller of Examinations of Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, Chennai, has issued a notice titled “Hall Tickets – November 2026 U.G. & P.G.”, dated 22 October 2026, and the hall tickets are available online. Still pending: I could not find the November 2026 examination timetable, so exam dates, shifts and the practical schedule are unconfirmed.
This is a hall ticket for a college examination, not a recruitment. Age limit, application fee, vacancy and salary don’t apply, so I have used the questions students ask about hall tickets as headings instead.
What has been released
JBAS published a notice dated 22 October 2026 for the hall tickets of the November 2026 UG and PG examinations. It comes from the Office of the Controller of Examinations and covers both UG and PG students.
The notice is short. As FreeJobAlert describes it, the notice gives a link to the hall ticket page but does not list login fields, download steps or an exam schedule. So most of what you need comes from the college’s published examination rules.
A note on sourcing: I could not open the 22 October notice on the official page myself, because the copy I fetched showed older notices. Two portals, FreeJobAlert and FirstJob24, report it with a matching date and title. Treat the date as reported and confirm it on the page.
Which college this is
“JBAS” here means Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, Teynampet, Chennai 600 018. The CoE site describes it as an autonomous college. College listings describe it as affiliated to the University of Madras and established in 1955. The notice comes from the college’s own examination office, so that is where your hall ticket lives. If you study at another institution with a similar abbreviation, this guide is not for you.
How to download
The college’s rules say hall tickets are generated online and can be downloaded from the college website one week before the examination, using your register number and date of birth.
- Open the examination site at coe.jbascollege.edu.in and go to the hall ticket page.
- Choose the November 2026 U.G. & P.G. entry.
- Enter your register number and date of birth.
- Check the details on screen, then download and print.
The sources don’t state a date-of-birth format. If the page shows a format hint, follow it exactly. Typing a date in the wrong order is among the most common reasons a login fails.
Make sure you open the right entry
The hall ticket page keeps its history. A search snippet of the page shows an April 2026 hall ticket notice dated 6 April 2026 and also a November 2022 notice. The copy I opened listed April 2025 above November 2022. The first line you see may not be the newest, so scan for the November 2026 entry and click that one.
Third-party pages add to the confusion. One results write-up from earlier this year describes a login ID and password process on www.jbascollege.edu.in. That is a different address and a different process from the CoE hall ticket route described above. Don’t follow older aggregator instructions for this notice.
What your hall ticket should show
The notice doesn’t list the contents, so this is general practice, not a JBAS-specific list. A hall ticket normally carries your name, register number, programme and semester, the papers you are registered for, and exam dates, sessions and centre. It usually carries your photograph too. Check each item against your own records and against the timetable once it is published.
Two checks catch the most problems. First, compare the papers listed with the papers you actually registered for, including any arrear papers. A missing paper is easier to fix a week out than on the morning of the exam. Second, compare your name and register number with your college ID card. A mismatch there is the one thing an invigilator will notice.
What to carry and the rules
The college’s rules say the hall ticket is mandatory for practical examinations as well. Students who treat it as a theory-paper document are caught out here. Keep the printout in the same folder you take to every exam, practicals included.
FirstJob24 reports that you should carry the printed hall ticket along with your college identity card. FreeJobAlert’s description of the notice doesn’t mention this, so confirm it with your department.
The malpractice rule is strict. A student found guilty gets zero marks for that paper, and her hall ticket is seized. She is barred from the remaining exams of that semester and marked “Absent”. The college also requires an undertaking signed by parents that the student will not indulge in malpractice. The hall ticket is what links you to your exams, so losing it carries consequences beyond the paper in hand.
Dates and what the gap suggests
| Item | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Hall ticket notice | 22 Oct 2026 | Reported by two portals |
| Download window | One week before the exam | Per the college’s CoE page |
| Exam timetable | Not found | Unconfirmed |
| Exam start date | Not found | Unconfirmed |
| Results | Not announced | Pending |
April 2026 gives a pattern. The college published the UG and PG timetable, covering regular and arrear papers, on 30 March 2026. The April hall ticket notice is dated 6 April. That is a gap of one week between timetable and hall tickets.
If November followed the same pattern, the timetable would already be on the CoE site. I couldn’t find it, which may mean my search missed it or it sits in a section I could not reach. That is an inference, not a finding. Open the timetable section of the CoE site directly instead of waiting for someone to post the dates.
The one-week rule, combined with a 22 October release, suggests exams starting in late October or November. The timetable settles it.
If you are an arrear or not-on-rolls student
The April timetable covered both regular and arrear papers, so the arrear schedule is likely published together. I did not find a separate hall ticket procedure for arrear students.
The college’s rules do describe a different route for one group. Students not on rolls must collect the application form and fee challan from the Controller’s office, have the form countersigned by the HOD, course teacher and themselves, and submit it by the stipulated date. The course teacher must approve the syllabus before countersigning.
If you are in this group and your hall ticket will not generate, the likeliest cause is an unsubmitted or unpaid exam form. I am inferring that from the rule above, not quoting it. Check your paperwork before you assume the portal is at fault. If you have a fee receipt, take it to the office.
If the page rejects you, or the hall ticket has an error
Recheck your register number, then the date of birth format. If the login still fails, ask a classmate in your batch whether hers opens, which tells you whether the problem is yours or the portal’s.
For a wrong name, photograph, programme or paper, the fix is at the Controller’s office. FreeJobAlert’s report advises contacting the CoE office with your details so the error can be corrected before the exam. I found no helpline number or email in the sources and won’t guess one.
When you go, a sensible set of things to carry (general advice, not a college requirement) is:
- Your college ID card
- Your previous semester’s marksheet
- Any exam fee receipt
- A printout of the faulty hall ticket
Don’t alter the printout by hand. A corrected hall ticket should come from the office.
Fake sites and paid hall tickets
The notice uses one domain, coe.jbascollege.edu.in. The hall ticket is free. If a site asks for money, a phone number or extra personal information in return for your “hall ticket”, it isn’t the college. Aggregator pages are helpful for spotting that a notice exists, but the download itself should always happen on the college’s own site. Type the address in yourself rather than following a link from a social media forward.
Printing and exam-day practicalities
Print the hall ticket the day it opens, not the night before. Check that every page prints, that your photograph is visible, and that the text isn’t cut off at the margins. Print two copies and keep one at home. Save the PDF to your phone as a backup, but carry the printout, since the sources refer to a printed hall ticket.
Read the instructions on the hall ticket itself. The college says all instructions are given in detail in the hall ticket. Those instructions, rather than any blog, are the final word on what you can bring into the hall and when you must arrive.
After the exam
No result date for November has been announced. For reference, results of the April and May 2026 exams for final-year UG and PG courses were published on 18 May 2026. That is an earlier precedent only, and it says nothing certain about November.
