HPRCA PGT Teacher Recruitment 2026: 2,423 Posts, Apply Online, Eligibility, Salary, Fee & Last Date APPLY FROM 10 Nov 2026

from several portal reports of Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA) Advertisement No. 14/2026, dated 2 November 2026: 2,423 teacher posts across 15 subjects in government CBSE-affiliated schools, with online applications from 10 November to 5 December 2026. The form is not open yet. Still pending: the exam date. We could not open the HPRCA notice, and the most detailed report says the engagement is temporary, so the terms below are as reported and need checking against the PDF.

What this recruitment is, and what it is not

Searches call this the HPRCA PGT recruitment, and most of the posts do ask for a Master’s degree, so the label fits. But the notice, as reported, is for teachers engaged under a scheme for government schools affiliated to CBSE, under the Directorate of School Education, Himachal Pradesh.

The most detailed report, from Govt Service Info, describes the engagement as temporary for five years with no regularisation, at a fixed honorarium of Rs. 30,000 a month paid for 10 months in an academic year. Careers360 independently reports the same honorarium and the same 10-month payment. The no-regularisation and five-year terms rest on the Govt Service Info report alone.

If you are comparing this with a regular PGT post in the state education service, the difference is large: a fixed term, an honorarium and no pay scale. The rest of this article treats it as what it appears to be, and points out where the notice has to be checked.

Computer 26056 95
Music not seen 95
Commerce not seen 187
Physical Education not seen 187
Fine Arts not seen 172
Total   2,423

The subject counts add up to 2,423. Post codes for the other five subjects weren’t in the extracts we saw. Select your subject’s code on the form, and don’t guess it.

Grouped by size (our arithmetic): Mathematics, at 281, is 11.6 percent of all posts. Six subjects with 187 posts each (English, Hindi, Biology, Sanskrit, Commerce and Physical Education) make up 1,122 posts, or 46.3 percent. The three 156-post subjects come to 468 (19.3 percent), Fine Arts has 172 (7.1 percent), and four subjects with 95 posts each total 380 (15.7 percent).

These are post counts, not competition. A subject with fewer posts may also have fewer eligible candidates. The reports don’t give category-wise or district-wise splits, and we can’t say how many posts are reserved in each subject.

Education qualification

The reported rules by subject, from one portal:

Subject Qualification in short
English Master’s in English, 50%; B.Ed with English as a compulsory subject; HP TET
Mathematics M.A./M.Sc. in Mathematics, 50%; B.Ed with Maths as a compulsory subject; HP TET

Economics Master’s in Economics, Applied Economics or Business Economics, 50%; B.Ed 50%; HP TET

Physical Education B.P.Ed, BPE or B.Sc. (Health and Physical Education) with 55%, plus M.P.Ed or M.A. Physical Education (two years)
Fine Arts Master’s in Fine Arts or Visual Arts with 50%; or Class 12 plus a recognised 5-year full-time or 7-year part-time diploma with 50%
Computer Any one of several routes, see below

The Computer routes, as reported, are a B.E./B.Tech in CS/IT with 50%; a B.E./B.Tech in any stream plus a PG diploma in computer science or applications; an M.Sc. (CS) or MCA with 50%; a PG in Mathematics or Physics plus PGDCA; or a DOEACC B or C level qualification. All posts reportedly expect candidates to be able to teach in Hindi and English.

Two points matter most:

  • HP TET. For the subjects that need a Master’s degree and a B.Ed, a pass in the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test is reported as mandatory. Sarkari Job Find’s summary for Political Science also lists HP TET. Keep the certificate ready before you start the form.
  • Relaxation in marks. One portal says SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates of Himachal Pradesh get up to 5 percent relaxation in the minimum marks. The notice has the exact rule.

Check the exact wording for your subject. “B.Ed with Maths as a compulsory subject” is a narrower requirement than “B.Ed”, and some subjects list which Master’s degrees count.

Age limit

The reported age is 18 to 45 years as on 1 January 2026. The date is earlier than the notification, so what counts is your age on that date, not today. Someone who turned 46 in the autumn of 2026 is still within the limit if they were 45 or under on 1 January. Relaxation for reserved categories is described as being per the rules, and the amounts aren’t in the reports we found.

What the Rs. 30,000 honorarium means

The honorarium is fixed. It is paid for 10 months in an academic year, not 12.

Item Amount
Monthly honorarium Rs. 30,000
Paid per academic year Rs. 3,00,000
Average over 12 months Rs. 25,000 a month
Over a five-year term Rs. 15,00,000

Those are our calculations from the notified honorarium, also shown by Govt Service Info. The reports don’t mention dearness allowance, house rent allowance or annual increments, so don’t assume any. If you are comparing with a salaried job, use the 12-month average of Rs. 25,000, not Rs. 30,000.

Application fee

The fee reported is Rs. 800 for all categories, made up of a Rs. 100 exam fee and a Rs. 700 processing fee. A correction costs Rs. 100. Payment is online. Two portals, Govt Service Info and Sarkari Job Find, agree on Rs. 800. The fee is not a relaxation matter for reserved categories, so don’t assume a lower amount.

Selection process and exam pattern

The reported process is:

  1. A computer-based screening test of 120 multiple-choice questions for 120 marks, lasting 1.5 hours.
  2. Document verification of shortlisted candidates.
  3. A final merit list, prepared on a merit-cum-option basis for district allotment.

The minimum qualifying marks are reported as 45 percent for General candidates and 40 percent for SC, ST, OBC and other reserved categories named in the notice. On a 120-mark paper that is 54 marks and 48 marks. Qualifying is the floor, not the cut-off for selection, and with 2,423 posts and a likely large pool, the scores that matter will be higher. We haven’t seen a past HPRCA cut-off for this scheme and don’t quote one.

The paper reportedly has three parts: subject knowledge up to the level of the essential qualification; general knowledge, including Himachal Pradesh and current affairs; and general aptitude, covering everyday science, logical reasoning, social science and general English and Hindi at matric level. The mark split between parts and any negative marking are not given in the summary. The exam date isn’t announced.

Registration and how to apply

Candidates must complete HPRCA’s One Time Registration (OTR) before applying, with personal details, qualifications, experience, a photograph and a signature.

The steps, from the reports:

  1. Go to hprca.hp.gov.in and sign up with a username and password.
  2. Complete your OTR profile.
  3. Find Advertisement No. 14/2026 and select the post code for your subject.
  4. Choose your preferred exam district and check the auto-filled details.
  5. Pay the fee online.
  6. Submit before 11:59 PM on 5 December and save a printout.
  7. Use the correction window only if needed, with its Rs. 100 fee.

The form opens on 10 November. Whether OTR can be completed before that date isn’t stated, so check the portal.

Documents to keep ready

The reports don’t list upload requirements. A sensible checklist, to confirm against the portal:

  • Master’s marks sheets and degree certificate, showing the 50 percent
  • B.Ed certificate and marks sheet
  • HP TET pass certificate
  • Date-of-birth proof
  • Category certificate, and Himachal Pradesh domicile proof if you claim relaxation
  • Photograph and signature in the specified size and format

Scan everything in advance. Upload failures on deadline day are the commonest reason for a missed application.

Earlier HPRCA rounds

This is not HPRCA’s first teacher notice this year. FindMyCollege lists an earlier notice for PGT posts in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Commerce dated 7 April 2026, and Advt. No. 08/2026, dated 9 April, for 808 vacancies in Music, Drawing, Sanskrit, Physical Education, History, Hindi and Geography. Several subjects overlap with this notice. Don’t assume that an earlier application or OTR registration covers this one. Apply under Advt. 14/2026.

Should you apply?

The terms are specific, so decide on them.

It may suit you if you want classroom experience in a government CBSE school, you already meet the qualification, and you can treat the five years as a stepping stone while preparing for regular posts.

Think twice if you need a permanent job, because the reports say there is no regularisation; if you depend on 12 months of pay, because the honorarium covers 10; or if you aren’t sure you meet your subject’s exact qualification wording.

Mistakes to avoid

The ones you can’t undo: paying the fee before checking that your degree, B.Ed and HP TET match your subject’s wording, and selecting the wrong post code.

The ones that appear late: a B.Ed without the required compulsory subject, marks just under 50 percent, and a certificate or photo that doesn’t match your OTR profile.

The quiet ones: assuming the honorarium is a 12-month salary, relying on an earlier HPRCA registration, and leaving the form to 5 December.
