Tripura Industries & Commerce Recruitment 2026: 48 Group C Posts, Apply Online, Eligibility, Fee & Last Date APPLY FROM 04 Nov 2026

from published write-ups of the advertisement dated 30 October 2026: 48 Group-C posts, online applications from 4 November to 4 December 2026 (5:30 PM) and an application fee of Rs 300. Still pending: the written exam date, the syllabus for Field Assistant and Junior Store Keeper, admit card, result and any cut-off.

Overview

The Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Government of Tripura, has advertised 48 Group-C (non-gazetted) posts: 6 Extension Officer (Industry), 38 Field Assistant and 4 Junior Store Keeper. The advertisement is numbered F. DI/ESTT/IV-5/99/Part/(2026)/19,798. Applicants must be Indian nationals with permanent residence in Tripura, and the application is online only, on recruitment.industriestripura.in.

Today is 31 October, so the portal is not open yet. It opens on Wednesday 4 November and closes on Friday 4 December at 5:30 PM. That gives you four days to get your papers in order, and then a 30-day window.

About the sources. I could not open the official advertisement PDF on tripura.gov.in. Everything below comes from five published write-ups of it (FreeJobAlert, FirstJob24, IndiaJobAlerts, 24x7JobAlerts and NEToday), which agree on the dates, post numbers and pay. FreeJobAlert gave by far the most detail, including the fee, age rules and exam pattern, so those points rest mainly on that one report. Read the PDF before you pay or upload anything.

Vacancy 2026: post-wise and category-wise

Post SC ST UR Total
Extension Officer (Industry) 1 2 3 6
Field Assistant 7 14 17 38
Junior Store Keeper 2 0 2 4
Total 10 16 22 48

Seats reserved for women are reported as 1 (unreserved) for Extension Officer, and 3 SC, 5 ST and 6 unreserved for Field Assistant, which makes 14. Junior Store Keeper has none. By my own addition that is 15 women’s seats across the three posts.

A few things stand out. Field Assistant is nearly four-fifths of the whole recruitment, so it is where most candidates will compete. Junior Store Keeper has no ST seat at all. And FreeJobAlert points out that the notice itself prints no overall total, so 48 is simply the three posts added together. The advertisement also says the number of vacancies may go up or down.

Who can apply: the residence rule

Only Indian nationals with permanent residence in Tripura can apply. The Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC) appears in the list of documents to be submitted at verification. If you studied in Tripura but your family home is elsewhere, you should not assume you qualify. Check how the PDF defines permanent residence.

Age limit

The age limit is 18 to 40 years for all three posts. The upper limit is relaxable by five years for SC, ST and PH candidates and for government servants, which takes the ceiling to 45 for those groups. The write-ups I read do not give the date on which age is counted, and that date matters if your birthday falls close to the deadline. Find it in the PDF.

Education qualification

Extension Officer (Industry): a full-time Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognised university or deemed university, or an AICTE-recognised institute. Distance-mode degrees are the risk here, because the notice says full-time.

Field Assistant: Madhyamik or equivalent from a government-recognised board or institution.

Junior Store Keeper: Madhyamik or equivalent from any recognised board or institution, plus computer knowledge and typing at an accurate minimum of 30 words per minute in English.

You must hold the minimum qualification on the closing date, which is 4 December 2026. The reports do not say how the typing requirement is checked, whether by a test or a certificate. If you plan to apply for Junior Store Keeper, look for that in the PDF and practise anyway.

Bengali and Kokborok

For Field Assistant and Junior Store Keeper, knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is desirable, not compulsory. The notice gives it three possible treatments: some interview marks may be given for it, or the department may make it a qualifying paper within the written test, or it may be waived for technical or highly skilled posts where local candidates are scarce. So the exact weight is not fixed yet, and candidates who read neither language should expect it to count somewhere.

Pay

Post Fixed monthly pay Level
Extension Officer (Industry) Rs 26,025 Pay Level-10
Field Assistant Rs 16,050 Pay Level-7
Junior Store Keeper Rs 16,050 Pay Level-7

The reports describe both figures as 75 percent of basic pay under the Tripura State Pay Matrix-2018, and say all three posts are on a fixed pay basis. By my own arithmetic from that 75 percent, the full basic pay would be about Rs 34,700 and Rs 21,400, but those two numbers are my estimate and do not appear in the notice.

One warning. Several job portals put Rs 26,025 in the headline salary box. That applies to only 6 of the 48 posts. The other 42, which is seven in eight, pay Rs 16,050. The reports also do not say whether the posts are regular after any period, or what allowances apply. Read the service terms in the PDF before you plan around this job.

Application fee

The fee is reported as Rs 300 per application, non-refundable, for all posts. Only one of the write-ups states this, and the others are silent, so confirm it on the portal. If you apply for more than one post, expect the fee to apply to each application, but the reports do not spell this out.

Selection process

The notice names four stages:

  1. Written examination.
  2. Submission and verification of documents by candidates who clear the written exam.
  3. Interview or viva voce.
  4. Final merit list.

If you do not attend the interview, you will not be considered for final selection. Admission at every stage is provisional, so an admission certificate does not mean your candidature has been accepted. A candidate found ineligible when the documents are checked is rejected.

Extension Officer written exam

The reported pattern is one objective paper of multiple-choice questions with 85 questions for 85 marks, in two and a half hours. One-fourth of a question’s marks is deducted for each wrong answer. The subjects are General Knowledge (world, India and Tripura), General English, Basic Mathematical Abilities, Aptitude and Job Oriented Knowledge.

With negative marking, blind guessing costs you. A sensible rule is to answer only when you can rule out at least one option.

Field Assistant and Junior Store Keeper

For these two posts the reports say only that selection follows the recruitment rules and syllabus for each post, citing file numbers (F.No. DI/ESTT/1-6/2024/Part dated 18-03-2026 for Field Assistant and F.No. DI/ESTT/1-2/2003 dated 18-03-2026 for Junior Store Keeper). FreeJobAlert notes that the line under the Junior Store Keeper heading actually names Field Assistant while citing a different file number, so the notice itself appears to have a small slip. I could not find the exam pattern or syllabus for these posts in any report, so I will not guess one. The place to look is the department’s recruitment site.

Cut-off, admit card and result

There is nothing to report yet. The written exam date has not been announced, so no admit card, answer key, result or cut-off exists. I also did not find an earlier recruitment by this Directorate that could serve as a cut-off reference. If you see a page offering a “cut-off 2026” for this recruitment, treat it as invented.

How to apply

The process works through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) on the department’s own portal.

  1. From 4 November, go to recruitment.industriestripura.in.
  2. New users register their bio-data through OTPR.
  3. A Registration ID is sent to your registered email, so use an email address you check daily.
  4. Log in with that OTPR ID and apply for your post.
  5. Upload your photograph and signature.
  6. Pay the fee if the portal asks for it and submit by 5:30 PM on 4 December.

Only two files are uploaded: a recent passport-size coloured photograph and a scan of your full signature. Each must be a JPG larger than 4 KB and smaller than 100 KB. Prepare both now. A photo that is too large is the most common reason people lose time on the last evening.

Documents later

Certificates are not uploaded at this stage. After the written exam result, successful candidates submit self-attested copies of:

  • age proof (date of birth or Madhyamik admit card);
  • educational qualifications from Madhyamik onwards, with mark sheets and certificates;
  • SC, ST, PH or ex-serviceman certificate, if any;
  • PRTC;
  • experience certificates, showing designation, type of work, joining and end dates.

Government servants whose application did not go through proper channel must bring a no-objection certificate to the interview, stating that the employer has no objection. Without it the candidature will not be considered for the final merit list.

Other conditions

No TA or DA is paid for the written exam or the interview. The authority can change the date, time or venue of the interview or the merit list, and can postpone or cancel the whole process without giving a reason or prior notice. Updates will be placed on the recruitment portal, so check it regularly.

Mistakes to avoid

The first is choosing a post for the wrong reason. A Madhyamik pass can apply for both Field Assistant and Junior Store Keeper, which pay the same. Field Assistant has 38 seats and no typing requirement, while Junior Store Keeper has just 4 seats and a 30 wpm typing condition. Unless you have a clear reason, the larger pool of seats is the better odds. Whether one person may apply for both posts is not clear from the reports, so check the portal.

The second is trusting a headline. One portal names “Tripura Institute for Transformation” as the issuing body, which is wrong for this advertisement. The issuer is the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, and applications go only through its own portal.

The third is the date. 4 December is a Friday, and the cut-off is 5:30 PM, not midnight. Do not wait for the last evening, when a busy portal can fail.

The fourth is ignoring Bengali or Kokborok. It is called desirable, but marks or a qualifying paper may attach to it. If you speak one of them, it is worth stating clearly in your application.

FAQs

I studied in Tripura but live in another state. Can I apply? The advertisement is for Indian nationals with permanent residence in Tripura, and a PRTC is among the documents checked later. Studying in the state alone does not appear to be enough, so read the residence definition in the PDF.

Is Bengali or Kokborok compulsory? No. It is desirable for Field Assistant and Junior Store Keeper. It may earn interview marks, or be made qualifying in the written test, or be dispensed with for technical posts.

Do I upload my certificates while applying? No. Only a photograph and a signature are uploaded. Certificates come after the written exam result.

I am a government servant aged 42. Can I apply? The reported upper age limit is 40, relaxable by five years for government servants, so 42 is within it. If your application does not go through proper channel, you must bring a no-objection certificate to the interview.

Can I apply for both Field Assistant and Junior Store Keeper? Both need Madhyamik. The reports do not say whether one candidate can apply for both, and they say the fee is per application. Check the portal and the PDF before you pay twice.
