based on press reports of the Sukma SP office advertisement: 375 posts and an application window of 2 November to 12 December 2026. Still pending: exam and physical test dates, application fee, admit card, result and cut-off.
Overview
Sukma Police has issued an advertisement for 375 vacant posts of Fighter Constable (Fighter Aarakshak) under the Chhattisgarh Police Special Executive Force, known as Bastar Fighters, as reported by Haribhoomi. Only residents of Sukma district can apply.
This is a district-level recruitment, not a state-wide one. Narayanpur has released its own separate advertisement on the same dates, for 383 posts. The recruitment follows rules notified by the state Home (Police) department on 31 August 2026, as reported by Samachar Web.
The “Cut Off / Result / Admit Card / Syllabus” part of the brief cannot be filled with real data yet. Applications have not even opened. Those sections below say plainly what is and is not known.
Important dates 2026
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Application start | 2 November 2026 |
| Last date to submit | 12 December 2026, up to 5 PM |
| Physical test, written exam, admit card, result | Not announced |
The dates and the 5 PM deadline come from the Sukma advertisement as reported by Haribhoomi.
Vacancy 2026: category-wise details
The 375 posts are split as ST 315, Unreserved 26, OBC 26 and SC 8. Nearly 85 percent of the seats are for Scheduled Tribe candidates, so a general-category candidate is competing for very few seats.
The state rules reportedly reserve 30 percent of direct-recruitment posts for women (TheSootr). The press reports do not say how that 30 percent is spread across the categories above, so wait for the advertisement text before assuming a seat count for women.
Who can apply: the local-resident rule
This rule catches the most people. The Sukma advertisement is open only to Sukma residents. Bastar division has seven districts, and a candidate living in Dantewada or Bijapur cannot use Sukma’s vacancies, even though the force is called “Bastar Fighters” across the whole division. Residence is checked through documents, so make sure your certificate names the right district.
Age limit and education qualification
These conditions come from the state rules as reported in September, before the district advertisements. Check them against the Sukma notice.
- Age: 18 to 28 years, with five years of relaxation for SC, ST and OBC candidates. Women, ex-servicemen and some other groups get extra relaxation as per rules.
- Age cut-off date: age is counted from 1 January of the year the advertisement is issued (TheSootr). If that holds, your age is counted as on 1 January 2026, not today. Someone who turned 29 during 2026 may still be eligible.
- Education: Class 10 pass for general candidates. ST candidates are eligible with Class 5 pass. Families affected by Naxal violence, or living in relief camps, can apply from all categories with Class 5 pass.
Physical standards
For women, the reported minimum height is 153 cm for Unreserved, SC and OBC, and 148 cm for ST, with no chest measurement.
For men, the figures circulating are 163 cm (150 cm for ST) and a chest of 79 cm unexpanded and 84 cm expanded. They appear on third-party job sites such as cgssbjob.in, and one of those sites says it follows the 2021 recruitment. Treat the men’s figures as unverified until you read them in the Sukma notice.
Selection process 2026
The selection is reported to be worth 200 marks in total. The physical efficiency test carries 100 marks and includes long jump, high jump, shot put, a 100 m run and an 800 m run. General candidates need at least 60 percent in this test, and SC, ST and OBC candidates need 50 percent. Candidates who know the local language or dialect get 20 bonus marks.
The press reports I found do not explain how the other 100 marks are divided, or whether the written exam and bonus marks fall within it. I will not guess. The notice boards at police stations carry the full scheme.
For comparison only, the 2022 batch worked differently. It had a 100-mark physical test, a 50-mark written exam and a 20-mark interview (Janrapat). The 2026 pattern may not match that.
Exam pattern and syllabus 2026
No official syllabus or written-exam pattern has been reported for 2026. Anyone selling a “complete syllabus PDF” right now is working from the 2022 pattern or guessing. What is safe to prepare, because the reports confirm it, is the five physical events. Start there.
Previous year cut-off
I could not find published cut-off marks for the 2022 recruitment, so I will not quote any. The numbers that are reported tell a different story about competition.
For the 2022 round in Bastar division, 5,405 candidates qualified in the physical test and 5,330 appeared in the written exam. The final selection was 2,100 constables, 300 from each of seven districts. By my own rough calculation, about 2.6 candidates qualified the physical test for every seat. That is an estimate from those two reported figures, not an official ratio.
Cut-off 2026: not applicable yet. Cut-offs follow the exam and the merit list.
Salary 2026
Salary is not confirmed in any report I could rely on. Some job sites quote a figure of ₹35,400–1,12,400, while another says the pay is under Level-4 of the state pay matrix. These two do not obviously match. Do not plan around either number. Read the pay level in the official rules or advertisement.
Job profile
Bastar Fighters is a state police unit raised in 2022, recruiting local Bastar youth who know the culture, language and terrain (ETV Bharat). It works alongside the District Reserve Guard, as in anti-Naxal operations that involved DRG troops, Bastar Fighters and CoBRA.
This is operational field duty in a conflict-affected region, and it carries real risk. A 2025 ETV Bharat report on a Bijapur blast mentions Bastar Fighters personnel among the dead. Think about that honestly before applying, and talk to your family.
Press reports in June 2026 (Patrika) said the government plans about 5,000 Bastar Fighters over three phases, to take over duties as central forces are gradually withdrawn. The total has since been reported as 4,600 in several places. Neither figure is the Sukma vacancy count, which is 375.
How to apply
This is an offline process. Many websites write “apply online”, which is wrong for this advertisement as reported.
- Get the prescribed application format from the notice board at your nearest police station, the SDOP office or the SP office. The format, physical standards and test details are displayed at all police stations and sub-divisional offices in the district.
- Fill it in carefully and attach documents.
- Submit it at the SP office in Sukma, or at the SDOP offices in Sukma, Dornapal, Konta, Jagargunda or Maraiguda.
- Or send it by registered post to the SP Office, Composite Bhawan, Kumharras, Sukma, PIN 494111.
For official information, the reports point to cgpolice.gov.in, sukma.cgpolice.gov.in and sukma.gov.in.
Documents you will likely need
The advertisement’s document list has not been reported, so confirm this against the format itself. Police recruitments in the state typically ask for an ID proof, a Class 5 or Class 10 certificate, a date-of-birth proof, a caste certificate where applicable, a local residence certificate and passport-size photographs. Get any certificate you are missing now. Caste and residence certificates can take weeks.
What candidates get wrong, and what happens next
Three practical points matter more than the syllabus.
First, 12 December 2026 is a Saturday. The Narayanpur advertisement says applications are taken on working days in office hours, and the Sukma reports do not say whether offices will be open that day. Submit earlier in the week.
Second, for registered post, the reports do not say whether the deadline counts the posting date or the date the application reaches Sukma. Do not test it. Post it at least a week early. Also keep the postal receipt and a photocopy of everything you send.
Third, the state’s reported target was to finish the first phase of recruitment by December. With applications closing on 12 December, I would not expect the physical test before January 2027. That is my reading of the timeline, not an announced date, so use the time to train.

FAQs
I live in Dantewada but my family is originally from Sukma. Can I apply? The advertisement is for Sukma residents. Eligibility depends on the residence certificate. If it names another district, apply in that district’s recruitment instead, once it opens.
Can I fill the form online? Based on the reports, no. Applications are handed in at the listed offices or sent by registered post. Be wary of sites asking for payment to “register online”.
I am 29 now. Am I out? Possibly not. The reported rules count age from 1 January of the advertisement year, so what matters is your age on 1 January 2026. Check this in the notice.
Is there a fee? No report confirms a fee. Do not pay anyone before reading the official format.
What are the 20 bonus marks for? They are reported for knowledge of the local language or dialect. Which languages count and how they will be tested has not been published.
