The JKSSB notification dated 28 October 2026 declares the result for the OMR-based written exam held on 18 October 2026, and the result sits in Annexure A of that notification. The cut-off marks, the document verification (DV) schedule and the final selection list have not been found on any source I checked, so treat them as pending.
What has been released
JKSSB has declared the result and score sheet for the Driver, Driver-II and Driver Grade-II posts in various departments. The revised/final answer key was also notified on 28 October 2026. The result is based on that final key, not the provisional one.

The paper had 120 questions in Series A, B, C and D, and the exam covered Advertisement Nos. 04/2025, 07/2025 and 09/2025. Your result is on the board’s official website, jkssb.nic.in, in the “What’s New” section. Look for the notice titled “Result/Scoresheet of Written Examination for the post of Driver/Driver-II/Driver Grade-II.”
How to check your result
Open jkssb.nic.in, go to What’s New, and open the result notice. The PDF is long, so use Ctrl+F and search your roll number. Save the file and print the page that carries your marks. You will need those marks later to understand your position.
Do not mix up the two results
This is the mistake I expect most candidates to make. JKSSB declared a Driving Test result earlier this year. That provisional result came out on 7 May 2026 for a driving test held from 9 February to 23 April 2026. The result released on 28 October is a different one, for the written exam.
Many job sites still show both under the same “JKSSB Driver Result 2026” heading. Check the date and the title on the official notice before you decide where you stand. A “qualified” in the May list does not mean you have qualified in the October list.
How the selection works
For the older Driver recruitment cycle, an official JKSSB notice says the driving test was a qualifying stage. A candidate had to pass it to be eligible for the written exam. Only the written exam score was counted for merit. A secondary source says the same rule applies to the 2026 cycle, with written exam, driving test and document verification as the stages. I have not seen this confirmed in the official 2026 notice, so check the advertisement for your item number.
If that holds, your October score decides your merit rank, and the driving test only needs to have been cleared.
Which recruitment this covers
The written exam covers three advertisements. One of them is Notification No. 09 of 2025, dated 27 September 2025, for UT, Divisional and District Cadre Driver posts. JKSSB extended the last date for applications under it from 11 November 2025 to 18 November 2025.
Some job sites report these figures for that notification. They come from secondary sources, and I have not checked them against the official PDF:
- Vacancies (reported): 107 posts, split as 18 in Agriculture Production, 27 in Public Works (R&B) and 62 in Transport. This is reported for Notification 09 only. I found no official total for 04/2025 and 07/2025.
- Age limit (reported): 40 years for General candidates, 43 for reserved categories, and 48 for ex-servicemen.
- Pay (reported): Level-2 is ₹19,900–63,200 and Level-4 is ₹25,500–81,100. Which level applies depends on the item number. Check your own item in the advertisement.
- Application fee (reported): ₹600 for General and OBC, and ₹500 for SC, ST and EWS.
What happens next
JKSSB has not announced the next step for this exam. The board’s earlier Driver cycle gives a rough idea. For the OMR exam held on 24 December 2023, the result notification is dated 1 January 2024. The DV notification and the provisional selection list appeared in the following weeks and months. The dates in the file names of these official PDFs are 1 February 2024 and 11 March 2024. Do not treat this as a promise for 2026, because the board sets a fresh schedule each time.
Expect these steps, in this likely order:
- A DV notice listing the candidates called, based on merit.
- Document verification at Jammu or Srinagar.
- A provisional selection list.
- A final selection list.
Keep these ready for DV: matriculation and 12th certificates, a valid driving licence, category certificate if you claim reservation, ID proof, and the printout of your application. I am not stating a document list as official. Read the exact list in the DV notice when it comes.
The cut-off question
I found no official cut-off for this exam, and no reliable cut-off from earlier Driver recruitments to quote. I will not give a number. Several JKSSB result pages say the category-wise cut-off usually appears along with the final selection list. That is a secondary-source statement about other posts, not a rule I could confirm for Drivers.
The practical point: the score sheet alone will not tell you if you are selected. The number of posts depends on the item, the cadre (UT, Division or District) and the category. A good score in a crowded district cadre can still miss out. A modest score in a cadre with few applicants can make the list.
A check that saves you trouble
Fake “leaked cut-off” and “selection list” PDFs spread quickly after any JKSSB result. Open notices only from jkssb.nic.in. JKSSB does not ask for money to confirm a selection. If someone does, treat it as a scam.

FAQs
1. I qualified in the driving test in May. Does that mean I qualified in the written exam?
No. They are separate results. The May result is for the driving skill test, and the October one is for the written exam. Check your roll number in both.
2. Can I still object to the answer key?
The final answer key was released with the result on 28 October, so the objection stage is over. Secondary sources said objections had to be sent offline at JKSSB offices, with ₹200 per question reported. I could not find any official notice reopening objections.
3. My name is in the result. Am I selected?
Not yet. Selection comes after DV and the final list. Your rank within your cadre and category decides it.
4. Will JKSSB send me a message about DV?
I have not seen anything confirming how DV calls will reach you. Earlier DV notices were published on the website, so check What’s New regularly.
5. Which notification does my result belong to?
Check your item number against Advertisement Nos. 04/2025, 07/2025 and 09/2025. The item number in your application shows the department, cadre and pay level.
Disclaimer: Dates and process details are from the official JKSSB notices as reported on 28–29 October 2026. Vacancy counts, age limits, pay levels and fees are secondary-source figures. The cut-off is not official or confirmed. Follow updates only at https://jkssb.nic.in.
