AEES Teacher Recruitment 2026: 254 PGT, TGT, PRT & Other Posts, Apply Online, Eligibility, Salary & Last Date OPEN

per job-portal coverage of the Atomic Energy Education Society’s Recruitment Notification 01/2026: 254 regular teaching posts, online applications opening 29 October and closing 18 November 2026. Still pending or unverified: the application fee, the age cut-off date, the exam date and the exam syllabus. I could not open the notification PDF itself, so every number below should be checked against it before you act.

What has been announced

The notification dated 27 October 2026 covers Principal, Vice Principal, PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, PRT (Music) and Balvatika Teacher posts at Atomic Energy Central Schools across India, as regular appointments. Applications are to be filed online, with registration opening at 10:00 AM on 29 October 2026. That is two days from now, so no working apply link exists yet. Anyone offering you a “live” link today is either guessing or selling something.

AEES is an autonomous body under the Department of Atomic Energy, and its own rules document describes it that way. The teaching posts sit in Group A and Group B pay classifications under the 7th Pay Commission matrix.

Three different hiring tracks, easy to confuse

Search results for “AEES teacher recruitment” mix up three separate processes, and candidates routinely read the wrong one.

The first is direct recruitment, which is this 254-post notification. The second is contract teacher hiring for the Atomic Energy Central Schools and Junior College in Mumbai. The official recruitment page lists contract-teacher advertisements for the Mumbai centre for the 2026-27 session, dated 4 March, April and 10 June 2026. Those carry fixed consolidated pay, with one third-party page reporting a range of Rs. 27,625 to Rs. 35,750 per month for them. That figure belongs to the contract track only. It has nothing to do with the Level 6 to Level 12 regular scales.

The third is the promotion-quota Limited Departmental Examination for people already employed by AEES. The official page lists an answer key for a written test held on 29 June 2026 for various teaching posts under that promotion quota. You cannot apply to that track from outside.

I also found a third-party page claiming that AEES extended a PRT, TGT and Librarian window to 16 August 2026. I could not match that to anything on the official recruitment page, so I am not treating it as a real earlier round.

Important dates

Event Date
Short notice released 27 October 2026
Online application opens 29 October 2026, 10:00 AM
Last date to apply and pay fee 18 November 2026, 11:59 PM
Exam date Not announced

These dates come from the Karmasandhan report on the notification. The official AEES recruitment page I fetched was last readable with entries only up to September 2026, so the notice itself had not appeared there when I checked. It may have been posted since.

Vacancy details

The reported post-wise breakdown totals 254: Principal 4, Vice Principal 1, PGT 27, TGT 102, Librarian 13, PRT 89, PRT (Music) 10 and Balvatika Teacher 8. The numbers add up correctly, which is a small sign the report was transcribed with care.

Subject-wise, PGT vacancies are Commerce 6, English 4, Mathematics 4, Chemistry 3, Computer Science 3, Biology 2, Physics 2, Economics 2 and History 1. Note what is missing: no PGT Hindi, Geography, Political Science, Marathi, Tamil or Electronics post appears in that list.

For TGT, the largest blocks are Mathematics-Physics with 22, English 14, Chemistry-Biology 13, Computer Science 13 and Social Studies 11. The smaller ones are Hindi-Sanskrit 9, P&HE Male 7, Art Education 7, P&HE Female 5 and Marathi 1.

The reported category split is UR 112, OBC 68, SC 33, EWS 25 and ST 16, with 12 posts reserved for PwBD candidates. A one-post subject like TGT Marathi or PGT History will almost certainly land in a single category, which means your odds depend on which category that one seat falls in, not on the overall total of 254.

The 580 figure you may see

Some pages advertise “580 PRT vacancies.” That number is not a vacancy count. The official 2026 recruitment rules list 580 as the sanctioned number of PRT posts, with a note that it varies with workload after sections are finalised each year. The same rules show 638 TGT, 228 PGT, 31 Principal and 55 Balvatika posts as workload figures. The reported 2026 notice has 89 PRT vacancies. Anyone planning around 580 is planning around the wrong number.

Education qualification

These requirements come from the official Recruitment Rules for Teaching Posts in AEES, 2026. The rules were uploaded to the recruitment page on 18 June 2026. The actual notice may add or adjust conditions, so read them together.

For Principal, a Master’s degree with 50% marks and a B.Ed. with 50% marks are required, along with administrative service such as working as Principal, three years as Vice Principal, or 12 years as PGT or lecturer, plus knowledge of computer applications. Vice Principal needs the same degrees. The experience route is working as Vice Principal, or at least six years as PGT or lecturer. Both posts are reportedly shared with internal promotion, so direct seats are few.

For PGT, the rules require a Master’s in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks, plus a B.Ed. with at least 50%, or an integrated route. For most subjects the candidate must also have studied that subject at graduation. That graduation-level clause rejects people with an unrelated bachelor’s who later switched subjects for their Master’s.

For TGT, a bachelor’s degree with 50% in the subject and in aggregate, a B.Ed. with 50%, and CTET Paper-II qualification are listed for the language, Mathematics-Physics, Chemistry-Biology and Social Studies posts.

Here is a trap with real consequences. For TGT Mathematics-Physics, candidates with B.Sc. Honours in Physics or Chemistry are not eligible. A physics honours graduate who assumes “Maths-Physics” suits them would be rejected. The same rules require Mathematics as an elective or main subject for at least three years, Physics for at least one year, and one more subject from Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science or Statistics. For Social Studies, two of History, Geography, Economics and Political Science are needed, and one of the two must be History or Geography studied for three years.

A second detail: the TGT rules do not list CTET among the essential qualifications for TGT Computer Science, Art Education, P&HE or Librarian. One aggregator’s table lists CTET Paper-II for TGT without distinction. The notice decides which version is right, so check the post-specific clause.

For PRT, the requirement is Class XII with 50%, a two-year D.El.Ed. or a four-year B.El.Ed., and CTET Paper-I. PRT (Music) needs Class XII and a bachelor’s degree in Music or Performing Arts with Music as a main subject in every year; a diploma does not qualify. Balvatika Teacher needs Class XII with 50% and English as a subject at that level, plus a two-year nursery or early childhood diploma or a B.Ed. (Nursery). Librarian needs a bachelor’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science with 50%, plus computer knowledge.

Age limit

Most of the age rules are in the official rules document, but I could not find the cut-off date that determines your age, and a third-party report says the post-wise age limits would be updated.

Post Maximum age for direct recruits
Principal 35 to 50 years
Vice Principal 35 to 45 years
PGT 40
TGT, Librarian 35
PRT, PRT (Music), Balvatika 30

Relaxation of five years applies to AEES employees, and relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, ex-servicemen and female candidates is applied under Government of India or AEES rules for PGT, TGT, PRT and Balvatika. The exact relaxation years per category are not in the text I read. If your birthday falls close to a limit, wait for the notice’s cut-off date before assuming you are in or out.

Salary

The pay matrix levels in the rules are Level 12 for Principal (Rs. 78,800 to 2,09,200), Level 10 for Vice Principal (Rs. 56,100 to 1,77,500), Level 8 for PGT (Rs. 47,600 to 1,51,100), Level 7 for TGT and Librarian (Rs. 44,900 to 1,42,400), and Level 6 for PRT, PRT (Music) and Balvatika Teacher (Rs. 35,400 to 1,12,400). Those are the pay-matrix bands, not take-home figures. Allowances are not covered in the sources I read, so I am not quoting an in-hand salary.

Selection process

The reported process has a written examination, an interview or skill test depending on the post, and document verification. I found no confirmation of the exam pattern, marks, negative marking or syllabus for this notice. That is why I am not publishing one. Any “AEES TGT syllabus 2026” page appearing today is built from older cycles or is guesswork.

What AEES has done before gives a hint, not a promise. For the 2024 notice AEES/02/2024, the official page carries result and cut-off marks for Principal and Special Educator, plus select lists drawn in order of merit with wait lists. An older cycle used a computer-based test and a skill test for teaching posts. Treat these as precedent only.

Previous cut-off

No published cut-off exists for this 2026 notice, and any figure quoted today is invented. The most recent cut-offs on the official page relate to AEES/02/2024, and I did not read the actual marks. Different posts, a different exam format and different competition make carrying those numbers forward unreliable.

How to apply

The report points to the portal aees.onlineregistrationforms.com for registration, using a valid email and mobile number, then filling in details, choosing post and subject, uploading photograph and signature, paying online and downloading the confirmation page. I could not verify that web address from the official AEES site. Open the application link only from aees.gov.in once the notification is posted there, and check that the address matches before you enter any data or pay.

The reported document list includes photograph and signature, certificates for degrees and Class XII, B.Ed. or D.El.Ed./B.El.Ed. certificates, CTET certificate, experience certificates, category and PwBD certificates if applicable, and a valid ID. Scan these now, in the file sizes the portal will likely demand, rather than at the 11:59 PM deadline.

The fee is not known. The reported page says fee details will be updated. Do not pay any “registration charge” to an agent or a messaging-group admin.

What happens next

Once the window closes on 18 November, expect a long gap. AEES must scrutinise applications, announce the exam schedule and issue call lists, and for earlier cycles the official page shows written-test call lists followed later by answer keys and results. Exam city, admit card and result will each be published as separate notices on the same recruitment page. Check that page directly every few days rather than following social posts.

Where you have a choice of posts, apply for the post whose eligibility you meet fully. A candidate with a B.Ed. and a physics Master’s should compare TGT Maths-Physics (which may exclude them) against PGT Physics (2 posts) before choosing, since two vacancies is a thin pool.

FAQs

Does CTET apply to every TGT subject?
Not according to the rules text. CTET Paper-II is listed for the language, Mathematics-Physics, Chemistry-Biology and Social Studies TGT posts, but not for TGT Computer Science, Art Education, P&HE or Librarian. Confirm against the post-specific clause in the notice.

I have B.Sc. Honours in Physics. Can I apply for TGT Mathematics-Physics?
The 2026 rules say no. Candidates with B.Sc. Honours in Physics or Chemistry are not eligible for that post, and they also set minimum years for Mathematics and Physics in the degree.

Is the Rs. 27,625 to Rs. 35,750 pay range for these posts?
No. That figure is reported for contract teacher hiring. The regular posts in this notice carry pay levels from Level 6 to Level 12.

Will 580 PRT posts be filled?
No. 580 is the sanctioned workload figure in the rules. The reported notice lists 89 PRT vacancies and 10 PRT (Music).

Is the written test syllabus released?
Not in any source I could verify. Wait for the notice’s exam scheme or a separate syllabus notice on aees.gov.in.
