from several portal reports: TNUSRB released the final provisional selection list for Common Recruitment 2025 on 1 November 2026, and category-wise cut-off marks are reported in the PDF. Still pending: medical examination, certificate genuineness checks and character and antecedent verification. Appointment orders and a joining date have not been announced.

What was released

The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board released the Final Provisional Selection List for Common Recruitment 2025 on 1 November 2026, covering 3,644 vacancies for Grade II Police Constable, Grade II Jail Warder and Fireman. The list is a PDF arranged by enrolment number, and no login is needed to open it, according to one portal.

The board’s own wording matters here. It is a provisional selection list, not an appointment order. Selection is subject to the medical examination, certificate genuineness verification and character and antecedents verification by the appointing authority, and to the outcome of pending court cases.

Some sites show 3,665 posts. One portal explains that the extra 21 are shortfall vacancies for ST candidates, and that the board’s result reports use 3,644. Use 3,644.

From the written exam to this list took almost twelve months, and about nine months have passed since the physical tests ended. Expect the next stages to take time too. No date has been announced for any of them.

How to check your name

  1. Open tnusrb.tn.gov.in and go to the Common Recruitment 2025 section.
  2. Open the Provisional Selection List link.
  3. Press Ctrl + F and enter your enrolment number.
  4. Note the post code next to it. Per one portal, PC is Police Constable, JW is Jail Warder and FM is Fireman.
  5. Save the PDF and a screenshot of your page.

The file is long, so scan all of it before concluding your number is missing.

Cut-off marks

The board has published category-wise cut-offs for Police Constable, Jail Warder (men and women) and Fireman, covering all categories including PSTM, Sports, Ex-servicemen, EW and MW. The full tables are long. Here are the open-category rows, as reproduced by Adda247 from the PDF:

Post and group GT BC BCM MBC&DNC SC SCA ST
Police Constable, Open General 84.50 81.00 73.00 83.00 82.00 78.00 81.00

Fireman, Open PSTM Men 90.00 87.00 84.00 88.00 87.00 85.00 85.00

A dash means no figure appears for that cell, and the reasons aren’t given in the portal’s reproduction.

Two cautions before you compare yourself with these numbers. The portal doesn’t state the maximum marks the cut-offs are out of, so don’t compare them with your written score alone. Use the board’s own PDF, which defines how the final score was built. Also, the other rows (Sports, Ex-servicemen, EW, MW, Shortfall and the disabled-women rows) have their own figures, so find your exact category and sub-group.

Patterns in the open rows:

  • Fireman’s General Turn cut-off (88) is above Jail Warder men (87) and Police Constable (84.5).
  • Women’s cut-offs sit well below the general ones: 74 against 84.5 for Police Constable, and 81 against 87 for Jail Warder.
  • Within each post, the PSTM row for GT is one to two marks above the general row: 86 against 84.5, 88 against 87 and 90 against 88.

The Police Constable table also has a “Shortfall” row with a figure only under ST (77.00). That fits the 21 ST shortfall vacancies mentioned above, but we haven’t confirmed the link.

Eligibility and pay (for reference)

One portal, quoting the notification and not yet checked against it, reports a 10th standard (SSLC) pass requirement, an age of 18 to 26 years as on 1 July 2025 with relaxation for reserved categories, and pay of Rs. 18,200 to Rs. 67,100 per month. It also reports a 150-mark written test: Part I Tamil Language Eligibility Test (80 marks) and Part II Main Written Exam (70 marks). Confirm these in the official notification.

What to do now

If your number is in the list, the next steps are the ones the board named:

  • the medical examination,
  • the certificate genuineness check, and
  • the character and antecedents verification.

The summaries give no schedule for them. Instructions are likely to go to your registered mobile number and email, so keep both active.

Keep original certificates and photocopies ready for the genuineness check. Anything that doesn’t match your application, such as a community certificate or SSLC marksheet, is where problems arise.

If you are in the list, don’t pay anyone for “job confirmation”. Selection is through the board.

If your number isn’t in the list:

  1. Check the number against your application and hall ticket for typing errors.
  2. Search the entire PDF.
  3. If you are sure you qualified in every stage and your number is still missing, contact the board through the contact details on its official website.

Only tnusrb.tn.gov.in is cited as the official site. Third-party sites with similar names, such as tnusrbonline.org, appear in search results and are not .gov.in addresses. Download the list only from the board’s own site.

FAQs

Is being in this list the same as getting the job? No. The board calls it a provisional selection. Medical fitness, genuine certificates, character and antecedent checks and pending court cases can all still change the outcome.

Why do some sites say 3,665 posts? One portal says those sites add 21 shortfall vacancies for ST candidates. The board’s result reports use 3,644.

Can I compare my score with the cut-off straight away? Only after you check the PDF for how the final score was calculated and what it is out of. The cut-off tables reproduced by portals don’t state the maximum.

Is the 26 December 2025 list the same as this one? No. That was the written exam result, which shortlisted candidates for the physical stages. This is the final provisional list after those stages.

When will joining happen? No joining date or appointment schedule has been announced.
