ERD Punjab Lecturer Result 2026 Out: Check Subject-Wise Result, Marks & Selection Process RESULT OUT

The Education Recruitment Directorate (ERD), Punjab, has put out the Lecturer Cadre written test result on erd.punjab.gov.in, dated 19 October 2026. The result is not the final selection list, and the scrutiny schedule, final selection list and any interview or document verification dates are still unannounced.

What has been released

The test was held on 19, 20, 26 and 27 September 2026 for Lecturer (Group B) posts in the Department of School Education. As reported by portals reproducing the public notice, subject-wise result links are up for seven subjects: Hindi, Biology, Political Science, History, English, Punjabi and Maths. I did not see result links for any other subject, so if yours is not on that list, check the ERD homepage and notices rather than assuming a result is missing.

I could not open the official PDFs, because the ERD website blocks automated access. What follows comes from portals quoting the notice. One thing to know about those portals: they update at different speeds. One coaching site’s page still says the result date has not been released, and another prints 1 October as the result date. The result is dated 19 October.

How to check your result

Open erd.punjab.gov.in and find the link called Lecturer Cadre Result 2026. Choose your subject and, if shown, your shift. A PDF opens, and you search for your roll number in it. Save a copy and print it.

The PDFs reportedly sit under the official domain’s results folder, in addresses ending in a pattern like result_lecturercadre_english_examination_2026.pdf. That is a handy test. A link that does not open from erd.punjab.gov.in itself is not the result. Merit lists sent over WhatsApp, or pages asking for a fee, a login or a mobile number before showing you “your marks”, are not official.

The result carries your name, roll number, subject and session, category, marks out of 150 and a qualifying status. I could not confirm whether the PDFs state a subject-wise or category-wise cut-off. One portal’s template has an unfilled placeholder at that line, so nobody should quote a cut-off from these summaries.

What the result means, and does not

This is a step in the process and not the end. The department’s public notice, as reported, says the result is not the final selection list. The selection list will be drawn from eligible candidates after scrutiny of candidates in the different categories.

In practice, appearing in the result means your written test score cleared the stage. Eligibility is checked afterwards, and that is where candidates lose seats. A category certificate that does not match the one you declared, a degree or B.Ed. date that falls outside the advertised rule, or a mark-sheet mismatch is found at scrutiny, not at the exam.

Portals describe the later stages as interview, document verification and a medical examination. The notice as quoted mentions only scrutiny and the selection list, and no dates. Treat the interview as unconfirmed until ERD publishes it.

Vacancy

There are 1,013 posts in all, 829 regular and 184 backlog, and the same test covered both. Backlog posts normally carry their own category conditions, so your category-wise position may be counted against a different pool than the total suggests. Check the category table in the advertisement or the scrutiny notice, since subject-wise category splits are not in the summaries I read.

Exam pattern and what your score means

The written test carried 150 marks, with one mark for each correct answer and no negative marking. Because wrong answers cost nothing, almost every candidate attempts everything, which pushes raw scores up and bunches them close together. A difference of two or three marks can mean a large change in rank, so check your marks and the scoring carefully against your own answer key response.

The window to challenge the answer key was open from 1 October until 5 October, 5:00 PM, and it is now closed. The result was prepared from the final key.

Previous year cut-off and cut-off 2026

I found no verified previous-year cut-offs from ERD for Lecturer subjects, so none are quoted here. For 2026, whatever cut-off exists comes from the result PDFs or the scrutiny notice and should be read there, per subject and category. Figures appearing on coaching sites are estimates and are not ERD data.

Documents to keep ready

The notice reportedly says candidates may be asked to show documents during scrutiny. The usual set, as listed by portals and not yet confirmed by an ERD notice, is:

  • Result or scorecard printout and written-test admit card
  • Application form printout
  • Photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN or Voter ID)
  • Class 10 certificate for date of birth
  • Graduation and post-graduation mark sheets and degrees
  • B.Ed. certificate and any other required qualification proof
  • Category certificate (SC, BC or EWS), if applicable
  • Recent passport-size photographs

Prepare originals and photocopies now. If a certificate has a validity date, check it before the scrutiny date arrives.

Mistakes to avoid this week

Do not treat a qualifying status as a job offer. Do not pay anyone who claims they can fix a “selection”. The department says all scrutiny information will go on its website alone. And if your name, roll number, category or marks look wrong on the PDF, report it through the contact details printed on the official notice, with screenshots, so there is a record.

FAQs

Is the result the final selection list?
No. The department has said the final list comes after scrutiny of eligible candidates in each category.

My subject is not among the seven result links. What now?
Check the ERD homepage and latest notices. I saw links for seven subjects only, and I cannot say whether other subjects are pending or were not tested in this exam.

Is there negative marking, and can I still challenge the answer key?
There is no negative marking. The objection window closed on 5 October at 5:00 PM.

Do I need to appear for an interview now?
Not announced. Portals mention an interview, but the notice as quoted refers only to scrutiny and a selection list.
