BSF HCM ASI Steno Result 2026, Check CBT Result Date & Latest Update

BSF has not released the result of the Head Constable (Ministerial) and ASI (Steno) computer-based test in the reports I found. The answer key came on 21 September 2026. Still pending: that result, the skill test, and the written exam dates for the other two BSF recruitments below.

Which BSF result are you looking for

BSF is running three recruitments, and search results mix them.

Recruitment Latest stage reported Next stage
HC (Ministerial) and ASI (Steno), 1,752 posts CBT held in early September 2026; answer key 21 September CBT result, then skill test
Constable (Tradesman) 2025-26 PET/PST result, notice dated 9 June 2026 Written examination
HC (Radio Operator / Radio Mechanic) PST/PET result, 25 or 26 May 2026 Computer-based test

Check which post you applied for before you look at any list.

HC (Ministerial) and ASI (Steno)

This is the recruitment most people mean. Prepp reports 1,752 vacancies under the 2024 cycle. The admit card came out on 19 August 2026, and Prepp says the CBT began on 1 September. CareerPower says the CBT was held on 2 and 3 September. I can’t settle that from here, and it doesn’t affect your result.

CareerPower reports that the answer key was released on 21 September, and that candidates could log in with their roll number and password to see their responses and raise objections until 23 September. That window has closed.

On the result, CareerPower says BSF will release it by the end of October 2026 and describes it as a qualifying list for the skill test. Another portal says October or November. These are the portals’ own expectations, not a BSF announcement. BSF hasn’t published a date in anything I found.

Prepp lists the stages after the CBT as the skill test, document verification and medical examination, all still to be announced. The CBT result sorts candidates into qualified and not qualified, per CareerPower. I haven’t seen how the final merit combines the stages, so check the notification.

The long gap between stages

The previous stage of this same recruitment shows how slowly BSF can move. Adda247 reports that the PST/PET results for HC (Ministerial) and ASI (Steno) were released on 2 September 2025, for physical tests held from 17 March to 2 June 2025. The CBT admit card, for candidates who qualified in that stage, came on 19 August 2026, and the exam was in early September 2026. So the CBT followed the physical result by roughly a year. That is my own arithmetic from the reported dates, and it is unofficial.

It cuts two ways. A result a few weeks after the exam is plausible, since answer keys and objections are already done. But the skill test could come much later than the result, and a candidate who qualifies shouldn’t assume it will follow within weeks. Keep practising your typing or shorthand speed, because the notification sets the standard and the date can arrive with little warning.

Constable (Tradesman)

TOI reports a notice dated 9 June 2026 giving the result of the PET and PST. It says 1,81,143 candidates were provisionally shortlisted for the written exam: 1,76,361 male and 4,782 female. Those two numbers add up to the total. The physical tests were held between December 2025 and March 2026, and the recruitment follows advertisements of July 2025 and corrigenda of January 2026. Prabhat Khabar says the notification was dated 25 July 2025.

ExamCart reports 3,588 vacancies for that cycle. Dividing the shortlist by the vacancies gives about 50 shortlisted candidates for every post. That is my own arithmetic from reported figures, and it is unofficial. It means the written exam is the real filter. I haven’t found a date for it.

HC (Radio Operator and Radio Mechanic)

Quick Sarkari reports that BSF released the PST/PET result on 25 May 2026, with 48,511 candidates qualified for the second phase, a computer-based test. The physical tests ran from 26 December 2025 to 2 April 2026 at 21 centres, per the same report. The result PDF is split into annexures for HC (RO), HC (RM), both posts combined, compassionate appointment candidates and temporarily qualified candidates. Another portal gives the release date as 26 May. I haven’t found a CBT date.

The annexure structure matters. If you can’t find your roll number, check each annexure before assuming you were left out.

Checking a BSF result

BSF publishes results on rectt.bsf.gov.in, per CareerPower, Prepp and TrueJobs. The results are usually searchable PDFs of roll numbers. Use Ctrl+F to find yours.

TrueJobs adds a warning worth repeating: a provisional answer key is not a final result. The only binding list is the one BSF publishes for the stage. A candidate who calculates a score from the key and posts a “my result” claim is guessing.

BSF’s results are also marked provisional in earlier cycles. A 2023 Careers360 report says candidature can be cancelled if a discrepancy appears at any later stage. Keep your documents consistent.

What to do while you wait

Three things. First, find out which stage comes next in the notification for your post and what it asks, whether skill test, written exam or CBT. Second, gather original documents, since document verification follows in all three recruitments. Third, check rectt.bsf.gov.in directly every few days. Third-party sites repeat “expected” dates, and some of them are rewriting each other.

FAQs

Is the HCM and ASI (Steno) result out?
Not in the reports I found. CareerPower expects it by the end of October, but that is the portal’s expectation, not BSF’s.

The CBT date is given as 1 September on one site and 2–3 September on another. Which is right?
The two sources conflict. Check your admit card for your own date. It doesn’t affect the result.

Can I still object to the answer key?
No. The window ran until 23 September.

Is the Constable (Tradesman) result the final result?
No. It is the PET/PST result. The 1,81,143 shortlisted candidates still have a written examination to take.

I don’t see my roll number in the RO/RM result.
The PDF is divided into annexures by post and category. Check each one before deciding you weren’t shortlisted.
