Bihar STET Admit Card 2026: Download Hall Ticket & Exam Dates RESULT OUT

per reports of the BSEB press note: the admit card was scheduled for release on 18 October 2026 and the exam runs from 25 October to 20 November 2026. Still pending or unverified: I could not open the official notification PDF, so the fee, pass marks and the exact shift timings below are not stated as confirmed. Your own admit card is the only place your date, shift and centre are final.

Where things stand

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced that the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026 admit card would go live on October 18 in the afternoon. The same press note, as reported, puts the exam window at October 25 to November 20, 2026. Candidates who finished the application and paid the fee can log in with their user ID and password to download it.

That is a 27-day window, so not everyone writes on day one. Your date could fall in the second or third week of November. Check the printed date rather than assuming the first one you heard about.

The exam is a computer-based test. There are two papers: Paper 1 for teaching Classes 9 and 10, and Paper 2 for Classes 11 and 12.

Which website to use

Several reports name stetregistration.cbrt.co.in as the download portal. One older explainer still lists bsebstet.org. Both appear in coverage, so type the address yourself or use the link from the board’s own announcement. Do not click links forwarded on WhatsApp or Telegram. Fake “admit card download” pages that ask for extra personal details or a payment are a recurring problem around any big exam, and BSEB does not charge to download a hall ticket.

How to download

  1. Open the registration portal named above.
  2. Find the STET 2026 admit card link on the home page.
  3. Log in with the user ID and password you created at registration.
  4. Download the PDF and print it. A clear A4 printout is safer than a phone screenshot.

If you lost your password, use the recovery option on the login page. I can’t confirm any helpline number or email address, so I haven’t listed one. Take contact details only from the official notification.

What to read on the admit card, line by line

Most candidates glance at the date and close the file. Read these instead:

  • Name, photo, signature and date of birth. If anything is wrong, the dummy admit card windows are where it should have been fixed. Those closed on 7 October, and I haven’t seen any announced mechanism for late corrections. If you spot an error now, contact the board through the channel in the official notification and do it before exam day, not at the gate.
  • Paper. If you applied for both papers, confirm that both appear. A candidate with Paper 1 on one date and Paper 2 on another must carry the correct printout to each sitting.
  • Centre address. CBT centres are often at private institutes in different towns, not at the local school you may expect. Locate the centre a day early.
  • Reporting time versus exam time. These differ, and the reporting time is the one that matters. CBT centres verify identity and biometrics before seating, which takes time.

The mistake that actually costs people the exam

Name mismatches. Your admit card carries the name as entered in the application. Your ID carries the name as printed on the card. If one says “Kumari” and the other doesn’t, or a middle name is abbreviated in one place and spelled out in another, a centre supervisor has discretion over whether to admit you. Compare the two documents tonight. If they differ, carry a supporting document, such as a gazetted-officer-attested affidavit or the Class 10 certificate showing the original spelling, and mention it at the registration desk before the exam, not during seating.

Photo quality is the second common problem. If your uploaded photo is dark or cropped, the printed card will be worse, and a supervisor may ask for a fresh passport photo. Keep two spare copies.

What happens after you download it

The admit card is only an entry document. The sequence from here, based on how BSEB ran earlier cycles, is the exam in your assigned slot, then the response sheet or answer key (if the board publishes one), then objections, then the result. Past-cycle timing doesn’t guarantee this year’s schedule, and I have no confirmed dates for the answer key or result.

Two things candidates often misunderstand about the results stage:

  • Cut-off. STET is an eligibility test with a qualifying mark, not a ranked selection with a rolling cut-off. I haven’t verified the 2026 qualifying percentage, so check the notification’s marking scheme rather than relying on coaching-site tables.
  • Vacancies and salary. STET does not itself fill any posts, so there is no vacancy count or pay scale attached to it. Qualifying candidates receive a certificate described as valid for life, and that certificate makes you eligible to apply for teacher recruitment, which is run separately with its own notification, vacancy list and pay details. Articles listing “STET vacancies” or “STET salary” are mixing the two.

Exam-day checklist

Carry the printed admit card and an original photo ID. Aadhaar, driving licence and similar IDs are commonly accepted, but the admit card instructions list what BSEB accepts for this exam, so match against that list. Bring spare passport photos. Leave phones, watches and bags outside if the instructions prohibit them, which is standard at CBT centres, and confirm this on your card.

Finish revision the day before. Use the last evening to travel, check the route and sleep, not to learn new topics.

FAQs

I applied for both papers. Will I get one admit card or two?
I haven’t seen the board state this. Download once and check whether the PDF lists both papers with separate dates and shifts. If only one paper appears, contact the board through the official channel before your first exam date.

The dummy admit card showed my correct details. Can the final one still have errors?
It can, though it’s uncommon. The final card is generated from the same data, but centre and shift allocation are new at this stage. Re-verify everything, especially the centre address, because that field wasn’t final on the dummy.

My exam date is in November. Do I need to download now?
Yes. Download it now so you can find errors early and plan travel. Portals tend to slow down in the days before exam dates, and early reporting of an error gives you more time to get it resolved.

Does the admit card show the pass marks or syllabus?
No. It carries logistics and instructions only. Pass marks, paper structure and syllabus come from the official notification.

Can I use a screenshot from my phone?
Don’t rely on it. Centre instructions normally call for a printed copy, and a faded or cropped screenshot is a common reason for a supervisor’s query.
