Age-barred applications will be summarily rejected, with no correspondence entertained on the matter.

The degree filter is strict — a general B.Sc, B.Com or BA, even with strong computer skills, does not qualify. Only Computer Science, IT and Computer Applications degree holders are eligible, and no age relaxation is mentioned for any category in the notification.

Application Fee (All Categories) NIL
Consolidated Pay ₹15,000 per month
DA / HRA / Other Allowances Not Applicable
Casual Leave 12 days per year, with a “No Sandwich Leave” rule

This is a bare consolidated wage with no pension, NPS, or medical allowance attached, and the High Court can end the engagement at any time without assigning a reason. Factor in the cost of living in your chosen district before applying — annual compensation works out to roughly ₹1.8 lakh.

6. Selection Process

Selection runs across two stages, combining for a maximum of 100 marks:

  • Written-cum-Skill Test — 50 Marks Combined, 60 Minutes: Written Exam (25 marks, 25 MCQs, qualifying 10) covering Windows/Linux, Networking, PDF & Document Handling, Video Conferencing, Hardware Troubleshooting, and Internet Basics; plus a hands-on Skill Test (25 marks, qualifying 10) on OCR scanning/conversion, LibreOffice, LAN/IP configuration, and hardware/driver troubleshooting
  • Viva Voce — 50 Marks, Qualifying 20: Candidates are shortlisted for viva at a 1:3 ratio based on Written + Skill Test marks; the viva judges mental alertness, skills, attitude, ethics, character and practical experience in computer skills, networks, databases and OS

Final Merit: Based on total marks across the Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce. In case of a tie, the candidate senior in age is ranked higher. No individual intimation is sent for test dates — all schedules are published only on mhc.tn.gov.in/esk_rec and the respective District Court website.

8. Service Conditions You Should Know Before Applying

  • No TA/DA is payable for attending the test, viva, or for work at another e-Sewa Kendra
  • No transfer requests between districts will be entertained — you work only in the district you apply for
  • Candidates cannot apply for more than one district; doing so leads to rejection in all districts applied for
  • The exam module works only on Desktop or Laptop — smartphone or tablet applications will not go through
  • Once submitted, the online application cannot be edited — verify every detail before final submission

  1. Visit mhc.tn.gov.in/esk_rec using only a Desktop or Laptop

11. Examination Centre & Result

The Written-cum-Skill Test and Viva Voce will be held at the Principal District Court campus of the district concerned, or another venue notified by that District Court — requests for a change of venue are not entertained. The shortlist for Viva Voce/Certificate Verification and the final merit list will be hosted only on mhc.tn.gov.in/esk_rec and the respective District Court website; no personal intimation is sent by post or courier. Final selection is confirmed only after scrutiny and verification of original documents. Selected candidates are posted at the e-Sewa Kendra in the district they applied for.

12. Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Applying through a smartphone or tablet — the portal is compatible only with Desktop or Laptop
  • Applying for more than one district — this leads to summary rejection in all districts
  • Applying with an ineligible degree — general B.Sc, B.Com or BA does not qualify, even with strong computer skills
  • Assuming final-year study counts — the qualifying degree must be complete as on the closing date
  • Waiting until the last day, given the unusually short six-day application window
  • Relying on touts or agents promising selection — the recruitment is purely merit-based, and such claims are false
