4. Eligibility Criteria (Must Read Carefully)

• Must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school.

Technical Requirement

• Must possess a valid Four-Wheeler Driving Licence.

Experience

• At least 02 (two) years of driving experience in any Government organization, Quasi-Government organization, or Registered Private Limited Company.

Age Limit (as on date of advertisement – 07.10.2026)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years
• Age relaxation will be given as per West Bengal Government rules (if applicable).

Other Conditions

• Candidate must be a citizen of India.
• Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

⚠ Important Tip: Experience certificate must clearly show that you have driven vehicles for at least 2 years. Without a proper experience certificate, your application may be rejected.

5. Selection Process – Full Breakdown

1. Screening of Applications – Only complete and correct applications will be shortlisted.
2. Driving Test + Interview (Total 40 Marks)
   • Driving Test – 20 Marks
   • Interview – 20 Marks
3. Medical Examination – Only for provisionally selected candidates.
4. Verification of Character & Antecedents – Police verification will be done before final joining.

A final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Driving Test + Interview and published on the Howrah GRP website.

6. Salary & Job Conditions

• Monthly Pay: Rs. 16,000/- (consolidated)
• Contract Period: 1 year from the date of joining
• Renewal: Possible only on the basis of satisfactory performance and approval of the competent authority
• Important: This is a pure contractual post. Selected candidates cannot claim permanent absorption or regular appointment in future.
• Statutory deductions (if any) will be applicable as per government rules.
