The District Selection Committee (DSC) of Eastern West Khasi Hills, Mairang, has declared the result of the Lower Division Assistant (LDA) Qualifying Paper on Knowledge of Local Language, held on 12 September 2026. The result notice is dated 15 October 2026, and the Typing Speed Test runs from 23 October (today) to 3 November 2026. The date of the written examination, the typing speed required, and any later stage are not announced.
Which result this is
“Meghalaya DSC LDA” covers several recruitments. Each district has its own District Selection Committee, and the Meghalaya Public Service Commission runs a separate LDA screening test for posts under Heads of Department, held on 22 August 2026. West Khasi Hills DSC has also published an LDA personal interview result this year. This article is about the Eastern West Khasi Hills notice only. Check the issuing office, the advertisement number and your roll number before acting on a result you find elsewhere.
I read the details through FreeJobAlert’s summary of the nine-page result PDF, which links to the district’s file on a government hosting domain (s3waas.gov.in). I could not open the PDF itself.

Typing test schedule
The test is on eight dates, all starting at 10:00 AM:
| Dates | Venues |
|---|---|
| 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 October; 2 and 3 November 2026 | DC Office, Mairang; Tirot Sing Memorial College, Mairang; Rose CSC Training Centre, Pyndengumiong |
The notice allots each roll number a specific date and venue. You attend only on that date and at that venue. Today is the first test date, so a candidate with a 23 October slot needs to be at the centre this morning. Anyone with a later date has time to prepare.
The PDF lists roll numbers in tables by date and venue. Do not assume that every number between the first and last in a table qualified. Find your exact roll number.
How to check your result
- Open the Eastern West Khasi Hills district website, easternwestkhasihills.meghalaya.gov.in.
- Go to the recruitment or District Selection Committee notices.
- Open the notice on the LDA Local Language Qualifying Examination result, dated 15 October 2026.
- Find your roll number in the tables, and note the date and venue next to it.
- Download a copy.
There is no separate admit card for the typing test in the summary I read, so the notice is your intimation.
What to carry
The result notice names two documents for the typing test: the Written Examination Admit Card and an identity card. The first means the admit card you received for the 12 September exam. If you cannot find it, look for the email or print it again from wherever you first downloaded it before your slot. The summary does not say what happens to candidates who arrive without it.
What the result does and does not mean
This is not the final result. It covers only the Local Language qualifying paper, which tests knowledge of a local language. The notice does not say how many marks it carried or whether they count in the final merit, and the paper is described as qualifying. Being on the list lets you attend the typing test. The notice says only candidates who qualify the Typing Speed Test may appear in the next Written Examination. It cites Office Memorandum No. PER(AR)43/2005/233 dated 26 March 2026 of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms (B) Department.
The date of the Written Examination will be announced separately. Other Meghalaya district committees have published personal interview results for LDA, so an interview stage may follow in this district too, but the summary of this notice does not mention one.
The typing test: what is known
The result notice confirms a Typing Speed Test. It does not state the required speed in words per minute, the duration, the language of the passage or how errors are counted. A portal listing for the district’s March 2026 advertisement gives the LDA qualification as SSLC, computer knowledge and a typing speed of 30 words per minute, with Pay Level 5. That is unofficial, so check the advertisement.
My suggestions, which are unofficial:
- Practise on a standard computer keyboard, not a phone.
- Aim for a steady 35 words per minute at high accuracy, to leave room above 30.
- Practise English passages, and if the advertisement names another language, add it.
- Arrive early, since the test starts at 10:00 AM onwards and a crowd of candidates share each venue.
Recruitment background
The district’s advertisement of 26 March 2026 reportedly covered 39 posts, with 13 for LDA, according to a portal, and applications closed on 1 May 2026. I did not see a category-wise split. For the LDA post, the portal lists SSLC, computer knowledge and typing as the qualification and Pay Level 5, which I could not confirm.
Syllabus and cut-off
The notice gives no syllabus for the Written Examination, and its date is not announced. I found no marks, rank list or cut-off for the local language paper, because the result is a qualified-roll-number list. No previous cut-off is quoted, since I found no verified figure for this district.
Mistakes to avoid
- Treating a result from a different district or from the MPSC as yours.
- Going to the wrong venue or date, since each roll number has one.
- Arriving without the 12 September admit card and an ID.
- Assuming the typing speed is 30 words per minute without reading the advertisement.
- Relying on a social media post and not the district website.
