RRB ALP CBAT City Intimation Slip 2026 Out, Check Exam City & Date

The Railway Recruitment Boards have released the city intimation slip for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) under CEN 01/2025. The slip went live on 20 October 2026 at about 6:00 PM, and the CBAT is scheduled for 30 October 2026. The e-call letter (admit card) is not out yet. The CBAT result, merit list and document verification dates are not announced.

What has been released

The slip is for CBAT, the third stage of the ALP recruitment under CEN 01/2025. It is meant for candidates shortlisted from the second-stage CBT, whose result the boards published on 1 October 2026. The slip tells you the city and date allotted to you. It is not an admit card, and it does not give a venue.

I did not open the RRB portals myself, because the railway recruitment sites block automated access. The release date and exam date come from several portals that agree with each other, and from a portal that says it read the boards’ CBAT notice of 1 October 2026. Check everything that affects your travel on your own RRB’s website.

One point causes real confusion. There are two ALP recruitments running side by side:

CEN 01/2025 CEN 01/2026
Stage now due CBAT CBT-1
Date 30 October 2026 3, 4 and 5 November 2026
City slip Out from 20 October Expected 23 or 24 October (portal estimates)
Admit card About 4 days before the exam Expected about 30 October (portal estimate)

If you applied for both, you will have two separate slips and two separate logins’ worth of notices. The slip that says CBAT belongs to CEN 01/2025. A page titled “RRB ALP city slip” that does not name the CEN may be about the other one. The expected dates for CEN 01/2026 are estimates from portals, and the boards’ own notice governs.

Important dates

Event Date
ALP CEN 01/2025, CBT-2 28 July 2026
CBT-2 result and CBAT shortlist 1 October 2026
Scorecard login (reported) Open until 16 October 2026
CBAT city intimation slip 20 October 2026, about 6:00 PM
CBAT e-call letter About 4 days before the exam (portals estimate 26 October)
CBAT 30 October 2026
Document verification, medical Not announced

The boards usually release the city slip about ten days before an exam and the e-call letter about four days before. This round followed that pattern. The 26 October admit card date is an estimate and not an official date, so check daily from 25 October.

How to download the city intimation slip

  1. Open the website of the RRB you applied to. The list of regional boards is on the unified portal, rrb.indianrailways.gov.in.
  2. Find the link for the CEN 01/2025 CBAT city intimation slip on the home page or under the CEN 01/2025 notices.
  3. Log in with your registration number and date of birth. In the 2025 round, the boards used this combination, and a portal reports the same for this slip.
  4. Download the PDF and save a copy. Print it.

Boards also send an SMS and an email to the details in your application, according to the 2025 notice. Do not wait for them. Look at the portal.

Use only the official RRB addresses. Pages that ask for a fee for the slip, that ask for your password outside an RRB domain, or that promise help with the CBAT result for money are not official. The boards have said in earlier ALP notices that selection is purely on merit and warned about touts who promise jobs.

What the city slip shows, and what it does not

Typically a city slip carries the candidate’s name, registration number, the exam city, the exam date and general instructions. It does not carry the exact centre address, the reporting time or the shift. Those come with the e-call letter, expected around four days before the test.

This matters for planning. You know your city and date nine days out, but you may not know whether you report in the morning or the afternoon, or how far the centre is from the railway station, until the 26th or so. Book transport that can be changed or refunded, and aim to arrive the evening before. The notice summaries I read do not mention any facility to change your allotted city, so assume none.

What to do in the next nine days

  • Vision certificate: A portal that read the CBAT notice says you must bring the original Vision Certificate in the prescribed annexure (reported as Annexure VI-A). Check the format in the notice and get it now. A doctor’s appointment is easy to arrange today and hard to arrange on the 29th.
  • Aadhaar: The same portal says Aadhaar should be unlocked, meaning biometric authentication must not be locked. Check the status on the UIDAI site or app and unlock it if needed. A locked Aadhaar can create a problem at the centre.
  • Photo ID: Keep the original ID that you will present, and check that the name matches your application.
  • Book travel and a place to stay if the city is not near you.
  • Practice the aptitude formats, covered below.

Who was called, and how many

The boards shortlist candidates for CBAT from the CBT-2 result, up to eight times the number of ALP posts in each category, within each RRB, on the basis of CBT-2 Part A marks. A candidate who cleared the Part A cut-off but failed Part B was not shortlisted. Part B needs 35 per cent for every category, as a portal reports.

The vacancy figure for CEN 01/2025 itself is not settled across portals. The corrigendum of 21 May 2026 is reported as raising the total to 10,970, and one portal says 9,970. One portal adds up the zone lists and counts 74,432 shortlisted candidates in 20 zones. That would be about 85 per cent of the 87,760 you would get from eight times 10,970, and the tally is unofficial. Two board lists give a sense of the spread, as a portal read them: RRB Patna shortlisted 156 candidates and RRB Muzaffarpur 575. Competition at the CBAT differs sharply by board.

The CBAT and the T-score

CBAT has several test batteries, which are aptitude tests measuring things such as speed, accuracy and perception. The summaries I read do not name them, so use the notice and the board’s practice material for the exact list. Three rules, as reported, matter most:

  • There is no negative marking.
  • You must score a minimum T-score of 42 in each test battery separately, for every category.
  • Failing any one battery ends your candidature, whatever you scored in CBT-2.

A T-score is a standardised score. It is scaled so that the average test-taker gets 50 and the spread, or standard deviation, is 10. A score of 42 is 0.8 standard deviations below the average. If scores are roughly bell-shaped, a rough guide is that about one test-taker in five falls below that line in a given battery. That is an approximation and not an RRB statistic. Because the T-score compares you with the other candidates who took the test, your result depends on how well they perform, not on a fixed raw mark.

The lack of negative marking means you should answer every item in each battery before time runs out, even by guessing.

How CBAT counts in final merit

Portals report that the final score combines CBT-2 Part A normalised marks at 70 per cent and the CBAT T-score at 30 per cent, with the T-score minimum applying as a gate. I could not confirm the formula on the boards’ own documents.

If both figures sit on comparable 100-point scales, the arithmetic is simple. A 10-point difference in T-score, say 60 against 50, adds 0.30 × 10 = 3 points to the final score. To make up 3 points through CBT-2 alone, you would need about 3 ÷ 0.7, roughly 4.3 points of Part A normalised marks. So the CBAT is not just a pass-or-fail check. A strong performance can move your rank, and a weak one just above 42 can cost you a seat on a tight list. That calculation is my own illustration from the reported weights.

Documents for exam day

As reported from the boards’ notice, you need:

  • the e-call letter, once it is out
  • the original photo ID matching your application
  • the original Vision Certificate in the prescribed format
  • an Aadhaar that is not biometrically locked, since authentication may be used at the centre

Read the instructions on the e-call letter closely. It will also state what is banned inside the centre.

Preparing in the last nine days

My suggestions, which are unofficial:

  • Practise timed aptitude tasks daily for 30 to 40 minutes. Focus on speed and accuracy in short, repetitive tasks, since these tests reward steady attention more than knowledge.
  • Do not cram. A good night’s sleep and a calm morning help more than an extra hour the day before.
  • If your railway board or the RRB portal hosts a practice test, use it to learn the interface. A portal mentions a mock link but I could not confirm it is official.
  • Check your computer-test habits: reading instructions fully, using the mouse accurately, and not leaving a battery unfinished.

What comes after CBAT

After CBAT, candidates go to document verification and then a medical examination, as the selection stages for CEN 01/2025 run. The notice summaries give no dates for either. Final selection depends on the merit combining CBT-2 and CBAT, vacancies in each RRB and category, and medical fitness for the post.

Cut-off

The CBAT cut-off is the T-score minimum of 42 in each battery, not a single total. The CBT-2 cut-offs for each board came out on 1 October. A portal that says it read the RRB Patna PDF reports Part A normalised cut-offs of about 45.24 for UR, 30.27 for SC, 31.63 for OBC and 45.92 for EWS. I could not verify these, so treat them as unofficial. There is no final-merit cut-off yet, because CBAT has not been held.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Mixing up the CEN 01/2025 CBAT slip with the CEN 01/2026 CBT-1 slip.
  • Treating the city slip as an admit card and arriving without waiting for the e-call letter.
  • Leaving the Vision Certificate to the last day.
  • Ignoring a locked Aadhaar.
  • Paying anyone for a slip, a result or a “guaranteed” selection.

FAQs

Is the city intimation slip the same as the admit card?
No. The slip tells you the city and date. The e-call letter, expected about four days before the exam, carries the centre address and reporting details.

I applied under CEN 01/2026 too. Which slip is this?
The CBAT slip is for CEN 01/2025 and the 30 October exam. CEN 01/2026 has its own CBT-1 on 3 to 5 November, and its slip is expected separately.

What score do I need in CBAT?
A T-score of at least 42 in each test battery, as reported. Failing one battery ends your candidature.

Is there negative marking?
No, as reported. Answer every item.

Can I change my exam city?
The summaries I read mention no facility for it. Check the boards’ notice.
