|
7. Which post should you choose?
|
| If you are… |
Best Option |
| A graduate in any stream (BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, etc.) |
Generalist (200 posts, the largest group) |
| A law graduate |
Legal (20 posts), or Generalist if you want a wider choice |

Finance (20 posts) |
| A B.Tech / MCA in CS or IT |
Information Technology (11 posts) |
| An engineer in Automobile or related branches |
Automobile Engineers (20) or Risk Engineers (28), depending on your branch |
| A Company Secretary |
Company Secretaries (only 2 posts) |
| An agriculture graduate |
Agriculture (20 posts) |
Specialist posts have fewer seats but a technical paper in Phase-II instead of the Generalist-only sections, so competition is different. Choose based on your strengths and check whether you may apply for more than one discipline in the notification.
|
8. Application fee (Expected)
|
| Category |
Fee (Expected) |
| General / OBC / EWS (Unreserved) |

The short notice does not give the fee. These amounts match the previous cycle and are reported by several websites. The final fee, including GST if any, will be shown in the notification.
|

SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS / PwBD certificate in the proper format, if you claim benefits |

|
11. Selection process: three stages
|
| Stage |
Date |
What to Know |
| Phase-I (Preliminary) |
17 November 2026 |
Online objective test. As in the previous cycle, it is expected to be qualifying, used to shortlist candidates for Phase-II. |
| Phase-II (Main) |
22 December 2026 |
Online exam with objective questions. Earlier cycles also had a descriptive paper. Pattern differs for Generalists and Specialists. |
| Interview |
To be announced |
Final selection is expected to depend on Phase-II and interview marks |
Because Phase-I is mainly for shortlisting, your aim should be a safe score in each section, not a perfect one. Then use the 35 days before Phase-II to build real strength.

|
19. Common mistakes to avoid
|
- Applying without reading the detailed notification. The short notice does not give qualification, fee or pattern. Read the full notification first.
- Ignoring the percentage rule. Many posts are expected to need 60% marks (55% for SC/ST). Check your own marks before paying.
- Wrong post choice. Pick the discipline that matches your degree. A wrong choice can lead to rejection.
- Waiting for the last day. The portal gets slow near 28 October. Apply in the first week.
- Bad uploads. Blurred photo, signature, thumb impression or a wrongly written declaration can cause rejection.
- Not tracking negative marking. A wrong answer is expected to cost 0.25 marks. Avoid blind guessing.
- Studying only for Phase-I. Phase-II comes 35 days later and has much more content, so start General Awareness and Computer topics early.
