Carry Notes
• Printed admit card (call letter)
• Original valid photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, etc.)

The list of items comes from the exam updates published by education websites. The final list is in the instruction handout on your login page, so follow that first.

8. Exam pattern: what is confirmed and what is a reference

Feature Details
Mode Computer Based Test (online)
Question type Objective multiple-choice questions
Language Bilingual (Hindi and English), except language-specific tests
Negative marking No negative marking for wrong answers (as per the official advertisement)
Subject-wise split Not confirmed in the sources we checked. See the reference below and the instruction handout.
Reference: earlier AAI Junior Executive CBT (not confirmed for 2026) Questions / Marks
English Language 35
General Intelligence & Reasoning 40
Numerical Aptitude 40
General Knowledge & Awareness 35
Total 150 questions, 150 marks, 120 minutes

Important: One website lists this pattern for the earlier cycle. Another reports a different number of questions for the same earlier exam. The 2026 exam also has discipline-specific (professional) questions for each post. So treat these numbers only as a guide, and check the structure in your instruction handout and the official syllabus PDF. If it is a 150-question paper in 120 minutes, you get about 48 seconds per question.

9. Syllabus: common part and discipline part

Part Topics (indicative)
English Language (common) Grammar and sentence structure, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms, reading comprehension, sentence rearrangement, error correction
Reasoning / General Intelligence (common) Logical reasoning, analytical ability, verbal and non-verbal reasoning
Numerical Ability (common) Basic arithmetic, data interpretation, numerical and quantitative problem solving
General Awareness (common) Current affairs, general knowledge, with focus on the aviation and PSU sector
Finance Commerce, accounting, taxation and financial management basics
Law Core subjects of the LLB course
Operations Airport and aviation operations fundamentals
Survey & Cartography Surveying principles, mapping, GIS and remote sensing
Civil, Electrical, IT, Architecture, Fire Services, Commercial, Corporate Planning, Corporate Communications Core degree or diploma-level subjects of your discipline

These topics are the general areas reported by education websites. AAI has put discipline-specific syllabus PDFs on its recruitment syllabus page for this advertisement (as reported). Please open that PDF for your post, because the discipline part decides your rank.

10. Selection process after the CBT

Stage What Happens
1. CBT First and main shortlisting stage for all 15 disciplines
2. Application verification Shortlisted candidates go through document and application checks (and any subsequent tests mentioned for the post)
3. Interview For Manager posts only (post codes 01 to 11). Junior Executive posts (Finance, Law, Operations, Survey & Cartography) have no interview.
4. Fire Services extra tests Manager (Fire Services) candidates also have a Physical Measurement Test, Driving Test and Physical Endurance Test before the interview
5. Documents and medical Background check and medical examination before final appointment

AAI has not published the weightage (for example, the CBT to interview ratio) in the notification summary we checked, so please read the official notification for the final merit method.

11. Salary and grade

Post Pay Scale Grade
Manager (Group A) ₹60,000 – 3% – ₹1,80,000 E-3

13. Exam-day strategy

Attempt every question There is no negative marking, so a guess can only help you. Do not leave any question blank.
Start with your strong area Answer the discipline part and easy common questions first, then come back to the long ones
Watch the clock Check your time every 20–30 minutes. Do not spend more than about a minute on one question.
Read the on-screen instructions Learn how to mark for review, change an answer and navigate sections before you start
Stay calm If the system hangs, raise your hand and tell the invigilator right away
Language Questions are in Hindi and English. Use the language you understand best, and check the other language if a question looks confusing.

14. Common mistakes to avoid

  • Not checking your post code and exam date. Nine posts are on 21 October and six on 26 October.
  • Going without a printed call letter or original ID. You will not be allowed in.
  • Reaching late. Reporting time is printed on the admit card.
  • Ignoring the discipline part. It decides your rank, so do not spend all your time on the common part.
  • Leaving questions blank. There is no negative marking.
