⚠ The Form Is Not Live Yet: The notification is out, but the online application opens on 13 October 2026 at 12:00 Noon. Use the days until then to collect your documents. Do not wait for the last date — the notice itself advises candidates to apply well before the closing date.

2. What Do These Two Posts Involve?

The notice does not list job duties, so this is a simple general idea. A Sweeper / Safai Karamchari keeps the court buildings clean and tidy. A Chowkidar looks after the safety of the court premises, such as gates, rooms and property. Both are Group C (non-gazetted) jobs in the Delhi District Courts, with regular government pay, DA, HRA and other allowances as per the rules. Shift or duty timings (including any night duty for Chowkidar) are not given in the notice, so ask about this at joining if it matters to you.

3. Important Dates

Event Date
Detailed Advertisement Released 9 October 2026
Online Application Begins 13 October 2026 (12:00 Noon)
Last Date to Apply Online 11 November 2026 (11:00 PM)
Cut-Off Date for Eligibility (Qualification, etc.) 11 November 2026
Age Counted As On 1 June 2026
Exam Date To be notified

4. Vacancy Details and Reservation

Post Code UR OBC SC ST EWS Total ESM (incl.) PwBD (incl.)
Sweeper / Safai Karamchari 46/26 5 2 1 1 1 10 1 0
Chowkidar 47/26 7 4 2 1 1 15 1 0
Total — 12 6 3 2 2 25 2 0

How to read this: “ESM (incl.)” means the ex-servicemen seats are included inside the 25 posts, not extra. The table shows no seats set aside for PwBD in either post. The vacancies are tentative and come from the departments’ requirements, so the number can change. Reservation is applied to each post separately, so a post with only 1 seat in a category has very few chances. Only OBC (Delhi) candidates notified by the Delhi Government get OBC benefits — OBC (Outside Delhi) candidates are treated as Unreserved.

5. Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: You must be a citizen of India.
  • Qualification (both posts): Matriculation (Class 10) pass or equivalent from a recognised board. No desirable qualification is listed.
  • Cut-off date: Your qualification must be complete as on 11 November 2026. If you are waiting for your Class 10 result, check this date carefully.
  • Age: You must meet the age rules in Section 6.
  • You must also meet the Recruitment Rules notified by the user department (the District Courts).

6. Age Limit and Age Relaxation (as on 01.06.2026)

Minimum 18 years, maximum 27 years. In dates, you must be born not earlier than 02.06.1999 and not later than 01.06.2008.
Category Relaxation in Upper Age
SC / ST 5 years
OBC 3 years
PwBD + UR / EWS 10 years
PwBD + OBC 13 years
PwBD + SC / ST 15 years
Ex-Servicemen Period of military service plus 3 years (maximum up to 55 years of age)
Government employees No relaxation under the Delhi District Courts rules (DDC Rules, 2012)

Quick example: an SC candidate can apply up to the age of 32 (27 + 5), which means being born on or after 02.06.1994.

7. Application Fee

Category Fee
General / OBC / EWS ₹100
Women / SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen Exempted (Free)

Pay the fee only through SBI e-pay. No other mode of payment is accepted. The fee is not refunded in any case.

  5. Check the whole form carefully — especially name, date of birth, category and qualification.
  6. Pay the fee (if you are not exempted) through SBI e-pay.
  7. Submit the application.
  8. Download and save the final submitted application, and keep a printout.

⚠ No Corrections After Submission: Once you submit the form, no change, correction or modification — including change of category — will be accepted. So double-check everything before you click submit.

9. Documents and Details to Keep Ready

  • A valid mobile number and an active email ID
  • Matriculation certificate (also useful as proof of date of birth)
  • Other educational documents, if any
  • Recent photograph and your signature (scanned)
  • Category certificate (SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwBD), where applicable
  • OBC candidates: your certificate should show OBC in the Delhi Government’s list; otherwise you are treated as Unreserved
  • Ex-Servicemen certificate, where applicable
  • Valid ID proof (PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving Licence or Passport)
  • Payment details for SBI e-pay, if you have to pay the fee

The notice does not give the file size or format for the photograph and signature in the part we could check. Read the instructions on the application page and keep a clear scan ready.

10. Selection Process

  1. Objective Test (MCQ) — 100 marks.
  2. Interview — 15 marks. Only those who qualify in the MCQ test are called.
  3. Final merit list — based on marks in the MCQ test and the interview together.

The number of candidates called for the interview will be at most 10 times the number of vacancies. As a simple calculation, that is up to about 100 candidates for the 10 Sweeper posts and up to about 150 candidates for the 15 Chowkidar posts. So the MCQ test is the real filter — most candidates are out at this stage.

11. Exam Pattern — Objective Test (MCQ)

Subject Questions Marks
English 25 25
Hindi 25 25
General Knowledge (including Current Affairs) 25 25
Arithmetic 25 25
Total 100 100
  • Duration: 120 minutes (160 minutes for PwBD candidates).
  • Language: bilingual (English and Hindi), except the English Language and Hindi Language questions.
  • Marking: 1 mark for each correct answer and 0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 50% for UR / EWS, and 45% for OBC (Delhi) / SC / ST / PwBD / ESM.

Example: You attempt 90 questions, get 80 right and 10 wrong. Your score = 80 − (10 × 0.25) = 80 − 2.5 = 77.5.

12. Interview and Final Marks

  • The interview carries 15 marks and is conducted by the Office of the Principal District & Sessions Judge (HQs).
  • There is no minimum qualifying mark in the interview.
  • Final selection is on the total of MCQ marks and interview marks. By simple addition, the highest possible total is 115 (100 + 15).

Example: 77.5 in the MCQ test and 12 in the interview gives 89.5 out of 115. The interview is small (about 13% of the total), so the written test decides most of your rank.

13. Reality Check — What Happened in the Last Sweeper Recruitment

Because these posts need only Class 10, many candidates apply, and the cut-off marks can be very high. For a sense of the level, here is the last DSSSB Sweeper / Safai Karamchari recruitment (Post Code 75/24, 12 vacancies). These numbers are from news websites that reported the DSSSB result, not from this notice, so please treat them as a guide only.
Category Cut-Off (out of 100) Candidates Shortlisted for Interview
UR 79.76 41
OBC 74.75 32
SC 75.50 32
ST 70.50 10
EWS 71.11 28
PwBD 46.96 3
Ex-Servicemen 46.25 9

What it tells you: in that cycle, about 135 candidates were called for 12 posts (roughly 11 candidates per post), and the shortlisting cut-off for UR was close to 80 out of 100. The exam was reported to have been held on 19 October 2025, the interview shortlist came out on 5 May 2026, and DSSSB posted interview schedules in July 2026. So the whole process took close to nine months. The exam date for this new recruitment is not announced yet, so plan for a long wait and keep preparing.

14. How to Prepare — Our Suggestion

The notice lists only the four subjects and does not give a detailed syllabus. Since the qualification is Class 10, we expect Class 10 level questions. Use the plan below as a guide:

  • Arithmetic (25 marks): percentage, ratio and proportion, average, profit and loss, simple interest, time and work, time and distance, and basic geometry. Practise speed, since this section is easy to score full marks in.
  • English (25 marks): basic grammar, tenses, articles, prepositions, synonyms and antonyms, fill in the blanks, and simple reading comprehension.
  • Hindi (25 marks): vyakaran (grammar), shabd-bhandar, muhavare, paryayvachi and vilom shabd, and simple passages.
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs (25 marks): Indian polity basics, history, geography, general science, Delhi-related facts, and news of the last six months.
  • Mock tests: take full 100-question tests in 120 minutes with negative marking, and track your accuracy. With a UR cut-off near 80 in the last cycle, accuracy matters more than attempting everything.

Because the exam date is not fixed, a simple routine works best: daily practice in all four subjects, one full mock test every week, and a revision of mistakes.

15. Salary and Benefits

Post Pay Scale Grade Pay Group
Sweeper / Safai Karamchari ₹5,200 – ₹20,200 ₹2,000 C
Chowkidar ₹5,200 – ₹20,200 ₹2,000 C

Earlier appointment orders of the Delhi District Courts for these same posts show the pay as ₹5,200–20,200 with Grade Pay ₹2,000, which is Level-3 of the 7th Pay Commission, along with other allowances as per the rules. In the general 7th CPC pay matrix, the starting basic pay of Level-3 is ₹21,700 per month. Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, medical benefits and other admissible allowances are paid on top, so your take-home will be higher. The exact in-hand amount is not given in the notice.
